Right, so. Has anyone else noticed any changes to their homes? Other than the random shop and the sudden appearance of the astral plane, that is.

For example, I have a big chunk of 2006 sitting in the middle of my 1973. Yuyuko and Fumie have both noticed differences in how someone they know behaves. [and Gene Hunt now has sparkly blood, but we're just not going to mention that]

[Incidentally, he is speaking a bit thickly, as he has a broken nose.]

A personal computer, Guv. They look like -- [shakes his head] I'm not letting you touch my PC. You'd break it. But fine, I will. [puts on his glasses and starts typing on the invisible!imaginary!keyboard - this is so not helping him look sane - doing a search] Network doesn't detect any other computers here. Which means Fumie isn't here, either. [takes them off and puts them away - Gene Hunt will not break Sam's shiny new toy]

I did a network search for signs of artificial electrical activity.

I just looked for a machine.

...right, well! [he's so pretending he knows what the hell is going on and lights up a cig, taking a long draw] Like I said, the bird used some computer thing that appeared out of nowhere. And said it's all connected through a machine of some sort. What the bloody hell that means, I don't know. Don't care, either. All I care about is CID being whole.

And as always, you are blind and single-minded in your approach.

[snappish] Then what would you suggest, Dorothy?

If she has information on us, on how close CID is to becoming whole, then don't you think it would benefit us to be able to monitor that? We could learn what brings it closer together or breaks it further apart. And if we did that, we could focus on the things that makes CID whole.

I gathered that much. But how do you suggest we go about getting that information, Tyler? She's not exactly opening her doors and letting us waltz in and get what we want, now is she?

[raises a finger] I -- ... don't know. But there has to be a way. If she can access it, we can. Wonder how much more in debt I'll be if I ask... Wonder if it even matters, as far in as I am now.

[gives him a Serious Look] You shouldn't be in debt in the first place. No good reason for it. [shakes his head] At any rate, I'll find the bird and get some answers out of her. No sense having you used up and useless cause of those bloody Twins.

They won't 'use me up.' All it means is adding another year to the infinite number of years I'll be working for them. And Meredith's answers are even less direct than theirs.

I can take naps here without having to worry about losing any time. [snorts; keywords appropriate] Is that better or worse than you can read the newspaper?
