{A fine pavilion suddenly appears on the plane. It's quite the work of art too, despite the broken sword wedged into one of the columns. Growing all around it a blue roses, the color of a summer sky, and for you observant ones, the same color of Diva's eyes. At first it seems like it came alone, but looking up, Diva is standing right on the pointed top with ease, a rapier in her left hand. She's even dressed for the occasion, but she sighs and sits on the top of the iron top, looking down at the sword stuck in the marble}

Ne~ James went too far. I really liked this too! Oh well, I guess. Amshel will just have to call that man to make another again.

{She waves her hand idly and frowns} I really hate practicing. It's so boring.

[didorothy]

No one deserves to be used. No one deserves to spend their three waking years in every thirty being told what to do and when just for someone else's power and luxury.

[madamemoiselle]

{A long pause as she frowns, but she looks back to Sam to speak quietly} That's not what Amshel said.

[didorothy]

[meets her gaze]

Amshel was wrong.

[madamemoiselle]

Even if...{She laughs and smiles brokenly} Even if I'm a 'bad person'? I really don't deserve that?

[didorothy]

You're not a 'bad person.' And even then you wouldn't.

[madamemoiselle]

{She almost looks like she might cry, but not because she's happy or sad, really, but the conflicting information when it's been so deeply ingrained is a bit much} Ne, Sam, it's times like this where I really don't know. I mean, who to believe. Is that bad?

[didorothy]

[takes her hands in his] It's not bad. It's just... natural.

[madamemoiselle]

But which one is right? If Sam is, then Amshel...{Trails off, furrowing her brow}

[didorothy]

Is wrong. About a lot of things.

[madamemoiselle]

That's not true.

It can't be true. Amshel...Amshel stayed with me all this time. Without Amshel, I would...

Why would Amshel tell me things that are wrong, Sam?

[didorothy]

No matter what he's done for you, Amshel isn't perfect. And he doesn't have... the right vieiw of the world. Maybe he believes they're true, but what he believes isn't universal.

[madamemoiselle]

But it won't change. It's not like I can just leave. {Smiles} Even if Amshel is wrong, Amshel is my Amshel.

[didorothy]

You can't let him keep treating you like he does.

[madamemoiselle]

It...wouldn't be worth it. Then I wouldn't be useful anymore. I'm Amshel's most precious treasure, his beautiful doll, his belonging. If it changed that, it would be more painful. Amshel would never kill me, but he knows how to hurt me, Sam. I'm sorry, but I'm too afraid to do anything like that.

[didorothy]

[he looks at her a moment more, then away, almost scoffing - perhaps resigned]

It's all right. I just won't give up on it.

[madamemoiselle]

Maybe you should.

[didorothy]

Maybe I should. But I don't and I won't, not on this, not on you. If I was that sort of man I'd've washed out ages ago.

[madamemoiselle]

{Looks down} I'm glad for that. Ne, I promise that much. But...

{She trails off thoughtfully as if unsure} But, Sam...That performance, when it does happen...I'm going to die. It kind of not worth it for that. If Amshel did, for some reason treat me better, then it'd only be until then. That doesn't seem worth it to me.

[didorothy]

Don't make that performance, Diva.

[madamemoiselle]

How can I not? If I just tell my Chevalier no, they'll ask why, but I'll have to anyways. Even if I don't sing, sister will still be there to kill me. My Chevalier aren't going to save me this time. And even worse, if I told them why and they believed me, they'd try and kill Sam.

[didorothy]

Don't make it about me, Diva. Make it your choice.

[madamemoiselle]

But that is my choice.

{Then quietly} Sam is worth more to me than I am.

[didorothy]

I shouldn't be.

[madamemoiselle]

Why not? Sam can die. Sam can get hurt, or sick, and anything else like that. I can't. Not really. I don't feel pain the same way you do, and I don't just mean physical pain either. Sam is more important to me, and everyone else I care about is more important to me because, ne, I've never ever valued my own life.

It's just not important.
