[Guess who got bored in a meeting with Port Caynn's Rogue? So here's Aniki, dressed up in a white billowy-sleeved shirt, a black tunic and black breeches hemmed with silver thread. Her battered sword and scabbard look weirdly out of place.

She's juggling daggers; there are three in the air now, and another held delicately by its tip between her teeth.]

[Is still in his suit since he doesn't want to go to his party yet.So,he's decided to watch, and is rather impressed. Although he doesn't want to say anything and throw off her concentration.]

[And there goes number four. She glances at him and grins.] Someone else is fancied up as well, hm? Never seen clothes like those.

[Grins] It's standard formal wear for men in my world. I have a party to get too when I go back.

Can I ask why you're all 'fancied up'?

[Wee, shiny pointy flying things!] Not the kind of party you'd haul me into, then.

Court business. Rosto likes pretty things, silly lad that he is, and we needed to make an impression.

[Laugh] It's not that kind of party I want to go to either. But I was invited, and it's being hosted by some of the more powerful families. I can't afford to not go, not when it could lead to some very nasty retribution if I skipped.

Who are you trying to impress?

Mmm. Sounds almost like the trials of the nobility. [Laughs]

[Smiles] That's what my grandfather used to say. Some of the older Families used to be of the nobility so that probably explains a lot.

Ah. Do you think you've managed to make an impression of any kind on him?

Her, actually, crazy bitch. [Juggle juggle juggle.] She's got a bit of a job she's working on, and Rosto doesn't like it. Nor do I, for that matter. We're trying to settle things quiet, but she's not met Rosto before even.

[Now you got him curious] Do you mind me asking what type of 'job' she's working on?

Settling things quietly is best. Saves the lives of those would be caught up in things.

That is the hope anyhow.

[Chuckles] Then I won't ask. I understand how valuable secrets can be. But can you at least answer yes or no to me asking if this is the sort of plan that might attract the unwanted attention of the authorities?

Here's me hoping things go well and you avoid blood-shed...if it's possible.

Mmm. [Frowns a bit at that.] Truth, I've not much hope that this will end the way we want it to. She's not pleased that a Scanran newcomer offed Kayfer. Wants to prove that Tortall was hers first, I guess.

[Has all four going at this point. She glances Juni's way.] No worries, lass, I've done this before. I'm not going to stick you, if that's what's keeping you distant.

[Smiles and moves a little closer]

[Flashes her a smile. An extra flick of the wrist makes the blades spin on their way up.] No? It's a common enough trick.

[Tilts head] Really? I've seen jugglers but not with daggers...

[Keeps watching] Is it hard?

It's not a far stretch from juggling sticks to juggling daggers, really. Just a sharper edge to watch for. Once you have the trick it's simple enough.
