[Once again, her scrubs are torn, but this time they're more like shredded. She's bone-pale and covered in blood. Most of it, however, is ink black and flecked with little, star-like speckles. She's breathing heavily, a chunk of sharp-edged glass in her hand; drops of mixed red and shimmering black drip from the end and plip rhythmically against the dismembered hand by her feet.]

[Stares blankly at him.] What do you care?

[Doesn't answer. He disappears for a moment and comes back with bandages, disinfectant, the works.]

Sit down.

Why should I accept assistance from someone who has no reason--less than no reason--to help me?

[Sighs.] I never said I didn't have a reason. Sit down before you fall over.

[A bit of a glare now] You said you liked Misaki. You said I'm not her. You have no reason to assist someone you don't like.

[Still not sitting :| Wobbling some now, though]

Liking Misaki doesn't mean I dislike Kirihara. It would be illogical to dislike you just because you've changed.

[Frowns a bit at her, because it's not like a Contractor to be stubborn about receiving medical attention.]

[Still glaring. She opens her mouth to say something else, but o hai falling over now.]

[Catches her and settles her gently on the ground. He wordlessly starts going to work patching her up and cleaning off the blood.]

[After a long while,] What happened?

[Has maintained a stony silence throughout the entire process. At his question, she shrugs and then winces.]

[Smirks.] Even Contractors retain a bit of curiosity.

There was a little boy. [Who, she remembers now, reminded her of July.]

[Flinches inwardly, but it doesn't show on his face.] And?

[Eying him now] What do you think happened?

Why don't you tell me?

[Monotone] Why don't you answer my question? I'm curious.
