2nd Heart - A Moment's Rest

[And here comes Jackie, popping into the Plane and, for a moment, looking rather flustered and perhaps even a little frustrated. In his right hand is a steel fold up chair, and his left hand is just idly twitching by it's own accord. He takes a few steps forward and opens the chair up with a snap, then promptly drops it in front of him. After staring at it for a moment, he sits down and leans forward, taking one long deep breath. Taking a few and holding it in, he leans back and tilts his head upwards, staring straight up and breathes out slowly.]

Better. Much better.

Lucky? Maybe in a sense.

Don't worry about it. [Waves hand dismissively] But no. It's not alright. And it's about to get much worse.

[Chuckles.] At least where all of this is concerned.

Anything you can do to keep it from getting...unmanageable?

True. Least I've got that going for me. No offense.

It won't get unmangeable. Not for me.

[Smiles.] Not at all.

Ah, well that's good, at least.

[A half smile] In some ways, I suppose. In others...not so much.

There are many ways that I can manage any given situation. And as the situation gets worse and worse, there are fewer and fewer ways available to me.

[An absent pause, and then a moment where he presses his fingers together.] Here's to that hope then.

[Gives him a mildly curious look, but says nothing.]

[Changing the subject now. Time to get some information on you]

So, this person you lost. I'm guessing that whoever it is has a considerable level of importance to you.

[Mild smile.] Her name is Yin. She's a friend of mine.

[A nod] Must be Hell, knowing she's lost somewhere.

It is. She can take care of herself, but I still worry.

Really now? Despite being lost in someone's reality, you can say that?

Most be one impressive friend.

[Chuckles.] Yin is very good at taking things in stride. And she's good at avoiding things that might be dangerous, too.

So she's got willpower and a natural sense of preservation and survival. Smart girl.

Still, if she has that going for her, and you still worry...makes me wonder what kind of world you've got.

It's no better or worse than anyone else's, I think. But I really can't judge, seeing as I haven't been to many other worlds. [Sheepish chuckle.] I'm just a worrywart, I guess.

Guess that's true. Can't tell whose got the worst world or whatever. Should be careful about worrying though.

It could kill you. [Watches Li's eyes discreetly.]
