[ Angela's found herself a hiding place (though it isn't a very good one) in the theater, sitting in the back row. Her face is buried in her hands, and three guesses as to what she's doing, and the first two don't count. ]

[ Looks up, surprised she's been found. She dabs at her eyes with the back of her glove, but it doesn't do much good. ]

Sh-she's gone. My mother. She disappeared.

[Moves forward and licks Angela's cheek.]

That is terrible! It seems that you are not the only one to have lost someone recently...do you have any idea of where she might be?

[ Angela strokes Amaterasu distractedly, trying to pull herself together. ]

I-- We searched the snowfields, but we didn't find her. We're going to try again tomorrow but... [ She bites her lip. ] I can't, I'm not powerful enough yet. Altena's going to freeze over if I have to...

Oh...that's right, your mother keeps Altena warm, doesn't she? [Firmly.] Then she must be found. Is there anything at all that I can do to help?

I don't know, I... I've been trying to think of where she'd go, but there's nowhere. I've tried getting to Elrand before, the snowfield just goes on and on.

[Dino is wandering by the theater, brooding when he hears someone crying. Since that's not really the type of thing he can ignore, he follows the sound] Angela? [He sits down next to her] What the matter?

[ Angela mops at her eyes, but the tears don't want to stop. Eventually, she manages, ] My mother. She's. Like your friend.

[Reaches over and starts to rub her back] Don't worry, she's probably fine. I think this is just the Twin trying to mess with us for some reason.

But it's-- it's starting to snow in Altena. If I can't... It'll freeze over if I don't... [ Blubber blubber waterworks etc. ]

[Ack, he hadn't meant to upset her more! He tentatively reaches over and slips an arm around her shoulders so he can giver her a brief squeeze] It'll be okay. We'll figure this out and get your mother back before anything happens, all right?

[ She nods and rests her head on his shoulder. ] I hope she's okay...

[Is wandering around, looking for other people who are missing people and generally fretting acting a bit concerned. He hears something in the theater and goes in to investigate.]

[ Hiccup, eyerub ] L-Li, she's gone. My mother. She vanished too. I've been looking for her, but the snowfield just keeps on going...

[Crouches down beside her and pulls her into an awkward hug.]

[Softly,] It'll be alright. A bunch of us are missing people. We think they may have ended up in other realities. Once we know who all is missing we should be able to find them. Your mother will be fine, I'm sure of it.

[ She hugs back, tight, not caring if it's awkward or not. ] Other realities. Goddess, she probably sticks out like a sore thumb somewhere else. We need her back, Altena will freeze, and I'm not, I can't...

[Eyes widen a little.] That's right, your mother...

Then we have to find her fast. What's her name, what does she look like? Do you think you can...if not keep the place warm, just keep it from freezing until we find her? Can you try?

[ Deep breath, her voice is a little shaky. ] I can try, it's started to snow already. I'll have to get all the magicians in the army working to keep everyone warm, while I concentrate on the flame...

She's taller than me, same color hair and eyes, long ears like me, too. Her name's Valda. She looks young for her age, but older than me.

[Wanders in, brooding about something himself, though it's about immortality, not missing persons. As soon as he hears the crying, he hunts out it's source.]

[ Hope you don't mind your shirt getting wet, Firo, because you're so getting clung onto now. ] My mother, she. Gone. Can't find her. [ Blubber blubber, Angela's good at this crying thing. ]

[O.o And have him putting his arms around you protectively, Angela, and bugger to the shirt.] Woah, steady, steady, Angy. [Gently,] How do you know she's missing? I mean, I believe you that she is, but how did you find out? What happened?

Breath deep, okay? Steady up. It'll be all right, yeah? We'll figure it out.

[Sometimes Firo is very glad to have 'experience' far beyond his own. It means he sometimes knows how to handle these sorts of situations.]

[ Deep breath, deep breath. ] Dino appeared here, saying a friend of his vanished... Then Li... And all I could think was that it was kind of cold this morning when I got up. I went to find her and she wasn't in her room, she wasn't in the throne room, I told the guards and no one could find her in the castle, so we searched the city and the snowfields...

[ She shakes her head. ] She's not in Altena, it's... It's getting colder there, it was starting to snow. Firo, it's going to freeze over, I can't keep it warm on my own..!

[Puts his hands on either side of her face, feeling a little self-conscious and trying to talk her down the same way Maiza would do for a shell-shocked rookie who'd been in a gunfight.]

Easy, easy, ssshhhh. One thing at a time. Okay? Yeah. Let's think, yeah? It's not just you. It's gotta be something about this place, so... There's that. There's something to start with. But, here, let's think. What do you have to do, to keep the city warm? Can you... could you evacuate people? Out of the city, or to one part of it, so you can keep that area warm while you look for her and not worry about the rest? Would that be easier?
