Bark 01

[Toboe appears on the Plane, looking confused but happy. He looks around, sniffing at the air curiously, this time taking a good look around.

Then like the good puppy he is, he sits down, making sure to keep his 'posture' straight, just as Granny taught him, and trying to look overall composed. The effect is ruined, however, when his mouth opens and he let's his tongue loll out, letting out a happy bark as he does]

[Toboe watches, though the smell alone tells him this is no ordinary wolf. He trots up to her excitedly, his own tail wagging] I haven't seen another wolf in a really long time are they.

Where are you from? You smell like....[he sniffs the air]/i> like wild flowers, or like me when I've spent the whole night sleeping among trees and flowers.

Oh? You do not have a pack then?

I am from a land called Nippon, where I am the goddess of the sun. [Giggles.] And you smell of humans, funnily enough! Of their cities and food and presence. But also of the wilds--the cold, the snow, the running. You are a traveler, are you not?

No, I travel by myself.

[let's out another happy bark] I am! I travel across the wasteland, from city to city. I've been in one for a few days now, which is why I smell so much of humans.

Hm! Interesting. Searching for other wolves, then?

I see! I do hope the humans are treating you well, then. But what do you mean by "wasteland?"

I'd be happy to find other wolf's, but it's Granny I'm really searching for.

They treat me as well as everyone else, when I'm human at least. The wasteland is basically anything outside the cities; it's mostly barren land, though there's everything from snow to deserts, and plains to mountains!

Granny? Ah, a human, then! Did she raise you, by any chance?

And you can take on the appearance of a human! [Giggles.] It comes quite in handy, doesn't it?

[A bit concerned at that.] Barren land...are there no trees? No plants? Rivers and things?

Yep! She took me in when mom abandoned me.

[doggy-style nod goes here] It does, especially since people aren't all that fond of wolf's in the city.

There are, their just few and far between...

How fortunate! Abandonment is a terrible thing, but I am glad that you managed to find a loving person to take care of you.

Humans can be a bit silly, sometimes. Some of them tend to frighten easily, particularly when faced with what they perceive to be a "fierce beast."

[Growing concern.] Heavens...is your world sick or something? ...There aren't any cursed zones or demons running about, are there?

I don't really regret it at all; parent's of wolf's like me aren't treated very well, so she was able to avoid that, and instead I got Granny.

The funny thing is that wolf's are a sort of legend in the wasteland, since you barely see any anymore, and when humans do get to meet us, they seem more scared than anything.

I don't know if it's sick, but I've traveled for a while now, and I haven't run into any demons.

A legend, are they? My, my...that's very interesting. But I suppose it was the same in my world. Many people considered the gods and goddesses to be only legends in Nippon for quite some time. Issun and I were able to show them otherwise, however.

Hm...well, there is that, at least. But it does sound as if your world is somehow in need of help.

[Aww...] I know the name and scent of every flower in my world. It might be that these Lunar Flowers only exist in your world. I do not know if you have been told yet, but it seems that everyone here is from a different world. It's really quite fascinating!

A different world, really? That would explain why everyone was so nice. I-I know granny wouldn't have liked it, but I appeared here as a wolf because I thought a place this beautiful couldn't have any bad people in it.

It is a very beautiful place, isn't it? A bit disconcerting, but still beautiful. And the people are quite pleasant! Almost everyone I have met here has been very decent and friendly.
