[surveys the death and destruction on the Plane with an inquisitive eye] I assume this was the Master's doing, then? How typical. Though I do need a word with him, if he'd be ever so willing to come out of hiding.

Not the Master, surprisingly. He--they--had nothing to do with it this time.

It was none of my doing, I assure you. Now... were you referring to me, or to my future self?

Actually, it wasn't for once. [frowns] Something wrong, old girl?

Is that so? Then what happened?

Who else would be capable of such a horrendous act?

Your assurances are worthless. [sniffs] I suppose it hardly matters, though I should think your future self is the one capable of removing these drums, as he placed them in my mind.

Truly? [shakes her head] Beyond these infernal drums? No. But they're beginning to get worse and I'd like them removed.

The vampire?

I'd never deny my own handiwork. Besides, I was rather busy while it happened. [he grins at her] Oh? What, you don't enjoy them?

Yes, the vampire. I fought her myself for a time, so it isn't simple rumour.

Diva's reality changed, and something there drove her insane. She arrived here out of her mind--killed a few people. Some of us managed to put a stop to her. It seems she's better now.

[nods] It was a vampire-sort of person. [then he moves closer to her] Do you want me to try calming them again? How am I handling it? My Eighth.

[rolls her eyes] This is why vampires are such a curse to the universe. Ruthless, disgusting things.

[concerned] Are you well? Did she harm you?

I don't need to hear it. [glares] Should I?

I believe her name is Diva. I've met her once or twice. Not the brightest creature in the universe. [blinks at him, a little surprised] That ... you may, of course. And your Eighth has had one attack since they started, but it was easily quelled. Relatively. I've done my best to shield him, but it makes other things more difficult, unfortunately.

I'm fine. [he isn't, at least privately, but he's keeping it to himself]

And yet it's completely true. Tsk. [he's still just as pleased, and then chooses not to answer the question] Are they starting to creep into all your thoughts yet? Twist them just the slightest bit?

Yes, Diva. I think she's all right now. [he nods] That's good. Let's sit down and I'll see what I can do. [sits!]

[it's a good thing she has no sense of personal space, because now she's touching you] Are you sure? You don't feel ... correct.

Well...it's not like it was entirely her fault.

[keeps glaring] What they are doing is none of your concern, beast.

She's a vampire. What do you care? [tilts her head, but sits beside him, tucking her legs beneath her] Thank you. I want them gone as soon as possible.
