002 - Because Any Excuse is a Good Excuse to Party

[Firo comes and goes in the bar, cleaning and arranging things, vanishing with broken chairs and reappearing with new ones, replacing tables and cleaning up glass until the place is a weird combination of speakeasy chic and Gunsmoke classic-old-west-bar. And then he starts showing up with food.

The alcohol comes later, once he's arranged various things on various tables--glass centerpieces and fancy ash trays. He's having fun, bringing in some of the best hooch the Alveare has to offer. Finally, he leans out the doorway of the bar and gives a piercing whistle.]

H'lo! Anyone there? Throwing myself a welcoming wingding and it would curve to have it all to myself. Don't want all this food to go to waste!



[[It's a party! So yes, the usual rules apply--threadhopping, drinking, eating, being merry, etcetera!]]

[Shrugs.] Wouldn't say customary, but it's fun, so! And everyone kept saying as how there was a bunch of us showing up at once--I figured it was a good opportunity!

[Chuckles.] It's true--I've never seen so many new people show up in the space of only a few days. And the people here are always up for a party, it seems.

[Someone's been cleaning his bar and it's not a Vash! Wolfwood is wearing a turtleneck shirt and jeans, the shirt not exactly covring a very large purple bruise on his neck]

All you have t' do is wave th' food 'round. Th' animals will love it.

[Amused.] You wheat or something? You keep talking about the stars like there's not a half-hour drive between the city and the nearest view.

[Small smile.] The stars in my world are all fake.

It happened when the Gates appeared ten years ago. All the stars were replaced with fake ones and the moon disappeared.

[Subject change GO!] So, what kind of food you got?

Yeah, them too. I was talkin' 'bout this real troublemaker o' a guy. He's always poppin' up when there's free food. [notices the alcohol and drifts closer] An' free booze.

[Wow, Li's subtlety is amazing. Firo turns to look over the spread.] Well, soup. Lots of that, always. Got some of the good bread from the Gandors' bakery, and some jellies from Maiza's stock. Ennis's chocolate cake--Miria's been teaching her how to cook a bit, or she was before they dodged out. [Grin.] Ennis'll kill me when she sees it's missing. Well, she'll go for Berga first, because he's the one who stole it last time.
