[So, snow is the last thing Rin expects to find. Weather in space!! That's weird! Granted, he can't decide if that's weirder than a kitchen, a forest, a historical-building-arena-thing-look-he-forgot-the-word-okay thing, and a beach in space, but no matter what takes the first prize of weird, it's still all weird. At least snow can be fun!!

He's gone back to his own world just for long enough to grab warmer clothes: a thicker coat to go over his school uniform, some gloves, some earmuffs, and an old and clearly long-worn scarf. And now that he's prepared? It's time to get started~

First on the list are snow angels. Is there a fresh patch of snow? Well, you will shortly find a Rin flopped down on his back in it, grinning like the excited thing he is as he waves his arms and legs about. And of course, he's mastered the art of jumping up without using his hands, so there are no pesky prints left behind to ruin the look of it! (Most of the time. He's bound to screw up once or twice - it'd be pretty unfortunate if someone were to catch him failing his jump and plopping back in the snow...~~) He always stands and admires his work for at least a little bit... before it's time to go make another a few more paces away.

He has other ideas, too. Of course. Just needs some people to share 'em with, honestly. And speaking of people, he especially wonders when Yukio'll show up and see all of this...? He has a very specific idea in mind for his brother!]

( you know what you need to add to your fun with snow in space? a puppy in snow in space.

except this puppy really shouldn't be a puppy, and he knows he shouldn't be a puppy. but. he is. and that isn't going to change for a while, yet. woe.

zack just so happens to come up on rin when he's failing at jumping out of his snow angel without making a mess - and when he plops back down, there's a sort of yip-bark that would have sounded a lot like laughter had the one giving it been human.

that's not what i sound like! come on!

unfortunately, he can't say any of that out loud. and this formerly-soldier-turned-literal-zack-the-puppy sits back on his haunches and gives a huff - you know the one. the one that carries every single bit of the suffering in the world in one single note. his head tips to the side -

and he whines. )

[Plop! Rin sure did land on his butt after that little failed jump, right at the base of his snow angel. djfkalda And with a petulant pout and a "tch...!" he stands, brushes the snow off of the back of his pants and--

Did he just hear a bark...?

He looks down, sees the puppy... ... and grins!]

Hey! A dog!

[And he practically jogs over to kneel down in the snow in front of him, stopping with a bit of a frown when he whines.]

Huh? What's the matter? Something wrong?

( yukio hadn't exactly planned on finding snow in this place, either – and he doesn't exactly refer to it as space, but then again, let's think again about who we're dealing with.

what isn't all that surprising is the fact that he comes upon his brother making snow angels once the snow has settled, and the younger of the twins can't help but to shake his head and laugh a bit as he comes to stand a bit behind rin, peering down into the shape he's made in the bright white fluff on the ground. what are you getting yourself up to, brother? )

["Space" is keeping it simple, okay.

He peers right back up at Yukio, still grinning like a kid on birthday Christmas morning as he finishes waving his arms and legs about in the snow.]

Yeah, duh.

[And then, he jumps~ and lands on both feet... though he stumbles about a half of a step forward but whatever at least he didn't fall over! And with a triumphant hum, he turns to look down at it, arms crossed, beaming.]

This is so awesome! Who knew it'd snow in a place like this? [He looks to his brother again.] What about you? Taking a break from school stuff?

zack waits for rin to come closer, and when the question comes, he gives another huff – not quite as weary as the first, but more of an of course there's something wrong, CAN'T YOU SEE I'M A DOG AND NOT A PERSON!? kind of thing. ( yes. you were supposed to get all of that from another puppy-sigh. did you?

have another bark-yip as he paws at the ground. )

the younger is still peering at his brother's handiwork when the question comes, and he gives a slight, absent nod. ) Someone keeps telling me that if I don't take intermittent breaks I might freeze in place. ( wonder who that could be~? even if you weren't there to tell him as much this time, somehow, your voice is always there in the back of his mind. harping at him to stop and remember to do silly things like eat and sleep.

honestly, if it weren't for you and shiemi, he'd have turned to stone by now. ) I have to admit, though, I'm wondering about the legitimacy of this snow. Where did it even come from?

Yep nope didn't pick up on any of that, he's pretty sure the huff and the pawing at the snow just meeeeaaans....!]

Hey, I guess this place brings all kinds of animals, huh? So you're new here, or something!

He griiiins with a little bit of pride when he mentions that little tidbit of information, though. Ending up as a teeny voice in the back of his brother's head every now and then, reminding him to take a load off and be a human being and not an eggheaded studybot, well... that's pretty satisfying.] Eheheh. Must be a pretty smart guy.

[... Wait. ... Did you just--... did you just say something about the legitimacy of snow? No, of course you did. What is he going to do with you...?

Other than roll his eyes, groan and hang his head.] Only you would wonder something like that. [Beat.] I dunno where it came from. But it's cold, and cold sometimes means snow, so I guess it makes a little sense?

[No, Rin, it doesn't, but you're right that it's not that important! Catch up, Yukio. Legitimacy of the snow... oh my word.]

[Wash is not thrilled to see the snow, but maybe, just maybe it'll be gone by the next time he comes here. For now, though, he's pretty stuck with it. At least he can't complain about being cold. He's in his armor and with all its systems, it's helping to keep him warm. So there's that.]

[Admittedly, he isn't expecting to see snow angels. He didn't realize there was anyone around who would take the time to make them, but he catches sight of someone on the ground, and he can't help feeling a little bit of his grumpiness melt. The guy looks pretty happy doing this.]

[Hawk's had… pretty much the one experience with snow, and they didn't have a lot of time to spend playing around in it. So this is a little surprising.]

Ah? What're these you're making?

[he comes over, peering at one of the shapes.]

oh my god they're ridiculous even like this.

… rin. rin you're not getting it. why aren't you getting it you're supposed to be getting it aren't you sma – waaaaiiit, back up.

zack plops himself down in the snow with a rather audible whump, resting his head on his forepaws and staring up a the other with those impossibly bright blue eyes. come on, dude. have you ever seen a dog with eyes this color? that has to set off some alarms, or something.

[And Rin isn't expecting to see a dude in full-body futuristic armor of awesome! He looks up from his arm-flapping on the ground and immediately, his eyes go wide and his jaw drops.

... ... ...

And then he springs up out of the snow, standing straight and staring up at him.]

Holy crap, you've got some crazy armor!

[Rin: Master of the Obvious.]

[Rin's already pulled himself out of his latest one, so he turns to smile at him as he approaches.]

Snow angels! [He starts pointing.] See? You've got the wings, and the bottom part where you move your legs around looks like a skirt. Or robe, I guess. Whatever.

[HEY! HE'S NOT STUPID OKAY! not always

... Nope! No alarms set off. Nada. He really, truly doesn't get it. Congrats, Zack. Rin is pretty sure you're just a puppy with blue eyes. He's no vetarun-... vetrinunar-... puppy doctor.]

Hey, don't be so down about it! Is it the snow? I don't think the snow's always here, so it'll probably go away at some point. I think.

[he leans over to get a better look, and nods]

I see, I see! I suppose it'd be whichever they liked wearing more.

[He snickers at that.]

Probably. I wonder if any angels wear pants...

he's no puppy doctor asdlkhg well it's a good thing you're not any real kind of doctor, period! sheesh …

zack listens to what rin is saying, and finally realizing that he's not going to have any chance at getting his point across, he does the only thing he can think to do.

he flops over. right there, on his side, in the snow. with another long-suffering sigh that would probably shake the plane right down to its core if it had one. so, maybe down to the machine? or maybe the black hole even feels the vibrations …

but you get the point.

he is so done with you. )

( well. maybe a small amount of both. it could really go either way at this point. |D

rin should be proud of that. there's no one else that influences him as heavily as his older brother, even though it's still pretty difficult to get through to him sometimes. rin has always been too stubborn to give up in the face of anything, and where yukio is concerned, it probably takes every bit of his energy at any given time just to get through to him. )

… Sometimes. ( but he's grinning, nonetheless.

YES HE JUST QUESTIONED THE LEGITIMACY OF SNOW. DON'T YOU THINK IT'S WEIRD THAT SNOW HAS JUST FALLEN IN SPACE? well. not really in space but in a place that has stars in the floor. a place where, not far off, there is a black freaking hole in the middle of nothing. snow doesn't seem like it fits here.

yukio just sighs. a tiny little bit. ) If that makes a little sense to you, I'll count it. ( okay. still grinning.

What would be the best way to show that, though? We could just lie down, but that doesn't sound as fun.

[That earns a curious look from him as he takes a step back in surprise. And a second later, there's a small smile on his face.] Yeah, I...guess I do. You're probably not used to seeing people go around like this, huh?
