 [There's a bad mood walking on the Astral Plane, and it's name is Aries Mu.

The books in the library are blank, the food has become...well, something, and if the increasingly frustrated manner in which he's searching the bar is any indication, he's discovered the little change there, as well.]

And what manner of eldritch horror will you spring upon us next, I wonder. 

[Aaaaand he's muttering to himself.]

This will teach me to stay away so long, I suppose, if this is what happens when I do.

[Finally, someone who feels the same as he does. Good. Let's see if we can make it worse, he thinks.]

One does wonder. [He passes a hand over his left arm, giving it the illusion that it has been slashed recently. "Dried blood" clings to the leather sleeve though the "wound" has already healed.] Do not stray near the forest. You will regret it.

[By now, though, the constant use of his magic is only starting to wear on him. Considering how long he has been at this, he's pretty impressed with himself. Makes him wonder how long he truly can go before his illusions begin to falter.]

[Though he doesn't look up when Loki speaks initially, Mu bristles quite visibly at the mention of the forest.]

Even so sacred a place, hm? They've outdone themselves this time.

[He sniffs the content of another bottle and sighs.] Of course, the one time I desire drink, it is nowhere to be found. You look as though you ought to join me.

[grip_on_reality]

[Menzies steps into the bar, looking around curiously for whoever is making all that noise with the bottles] Thought I 'eard somebody rummaging in 'ere. Rough day, Mu?

[lamb_of_gold]

Detective.

It has been a trying several weeks.

[grip_on_reality]

[she chuckles darkly] That's one way to put it. Did you get stuck 'ere, too, or 'as life been going that well all 'round?

[lamb_of_gold]

The latter, but I'm not at all sure if I ought to be thankful for that or not. Why has all the drink here turned to water?

[grip_on_reality]

[she makes a face] Good question. It's not just that, either--things seem to be breaking down all 'round this place. It's been going on for a while now. So you've spent those last few weeks at 'ome, I take it?

[because otherwise it would have been hard for him not to have noticed the problems on the Plane sooner]

[lamb_of_gold]

I felt the need to be alone awhile. [So yes. What he doesn't say, however, was that he wasn't even in Sanctuary most of the time - he'd gone back to full hermit mode.]

[grip_on_reality]

Right, well, if there's a pattern or a cause, we 'aven't found it yet.

[she pauses, considering his expression. and then she offers:] But if you're really in need of some alcohol, I could probably get you something from' 'ome.

[behisequal]

Indeed they have. I dare to think what they may be able to do at a later time...

[Loki's eyes drift to a bottle on the shelf, a particular bottle that is not so far away from the one Mu has picked.] A drink would be divine, were there more than water...

Have you seen the monstrosity they have placed in the lake?

No, actually. I've thusfar been spared the pleasure.

[Finally, he looks up at Loki, abandoning the search for now.] I take it you've not been so lucky.

[lamb_of_gold]

As seems to always be the case. It is frustrating, but I suppose it's to be expected.

[He sits back on his haunches, finally looking up at her properly.] The offer is appreciated, but I think this debacle is a cosmic discouragement.

[grip_on_reality]

[she snorts] Couldn't 'ave put it better myself.

Please yourself. [she shrugs] But if you're looking for something else to drink, the bathhouse 'as been fine so far.

[behisequal]

Fortune has not been a friend of mine for many, many passings of the seasons, seemingly more so since gaining access to this realm. [He grimaces wryly.] So no, I have not. The beast proved particularly strong, but I do not think I managed to slay it. I thought, perhaps, that I may set fire to the water and evaporate it until the beast is exposed, but if it can bring such destruction from a simple body of water, I dare not think what it could do once it adapts to land.
