[Cy appears on the Plane, looking totally out of it. She's sitting, small and wide-eyed and confused, amidst the scattered bodies of dead cats. They're sad, grotesque creatures, some missing eyes, or a leg, some unnaturally large, almost all missing hair around the face and neck. Most have wounds, some shallow and unhealed, others recent, signs of a brutal fight. Many of them are charred. The one closest to Cy has wires wound up into one of its eye sockets.

She walks over to him, dabs gently at his face, and starts trying ineffectively to clean the soot from around his nose.]

Wake up, brother. There's dances to be done. Wake up. You can find the road again. Please?

[Yuri stops and stares. He's seen worse than this before, but there something very disturbing about the scene before. Plus one of the cats is talking and that is kind of freaky to him]

[She looks groggily in his direction.] Spirits to spare... [She looks back at the cat and tries grooming again, this time around his neck.]

[Okay, now the talking cat gets more stares] How the hell did you know that? [Then he feels kind of guilty about that because even he thinks it's sort of sad] Hey..umm [Pauses wondering how you comfort a cat]

[Wobbles.] Whatcha do with a drunken sailor, early in the morning...

[That is a lot of dead cats. Minato crouches down nearby for Cy]

[Yuri crouches down next to the talking cat. He reaches toward her.] Hey, you okay?

[She looks up at him.]

Is it a slumber party?

[She wanders up to him.] MP3-pi-o... I was sleeping. It hurt. What happened?

[He glances over the other cats, though it was quite obvious to him the first time.] Experiments.

[He pets her, being unusually gentle.] I don't think so. Do you know what happened to them? [He jerks his head toward the cats]

[Tries to climb onto his knee, even more awkward and uncoordinated than usual.] But no, they're not, they're brothers. Brothers and sisters, see?

[Shivers.] He was in there. I begged. I begged Ace, told him don't go, but he went, and it hurt, and I don't remember.

[Fortunately the Plane has mad time warping abilities so here's Hei, after the whole thing with Yuzu and Mu. And Hei thought his bad day was over. Any anger he still has toward the kitty vanishes instantly.]

Cy?

[Lifts the cat up, and has an inner conflict before deciding to hold her close, if awkwardly.]

[She doesn't seem to hear him, just keeps licking away at a patch charred skin, trying to clean off the burn.]

[Just sort of is limp there for a while.]

Shin... Shinji...

[Hei goes over to her silently and sits down next to her. Then he reaches over and lays a hand gently on her back.]

It'll be alright, Cy.

[Pets her some more. Has no idea what to say to a cat.]

He's tired. [Keeps licking. Her tongue has black flakes stuck to it.] They were fighting, I could feel them fightning, and he's tired.

... Shinjiro-senpai was killed too.

[...because I can't resist. So yes, pretend this is after Yuzuriha is done with the unconscious men.]

...you'll be okay. [She wishes she could say the same of the other cats but that would be a lie. Yuzuriha crouches near Cy, holding a hand out towards her hesitantly.

My brother...he as well-- You'll be okay. [She remember's Tokusa distantly and his broken body.]

[This isn't easy, even for the hard-boiled Contractor.]

I'm sorry, Cy. They're gone.

Sorry, MP3...

That was different, though. He wanted to die.
