[There's a kid on the floor of the kitchen, making himself a sandwich. Nothing unusual about this, especially since it's this kid. Conan's house-trained, after all.

... then again, he is making the sandwich right there, on the floor. Sure, he's making it on a plate, so that's not as bad, but he's left one discarded banana peel behind him, and the lid of the peanut butter container has not been put back on. The kid's concentrating hard as he drizzles honey over his sandwich, but he's got peanut butter on an elbow, and a smudge of honey on his chin.

And he's not wearing glasses. Okay, so maybe this is weird.]

[Menzies stops short at the sight that greets her in the kitchen, mostly because it's just so...surprising...from him. she blinks. she might still have a (healing) black eye, but no, she's definitely seeing what she thinks she's seeing]

[but she cuts herself off. there's too much evidence for her to ignore; something is very wrong here--and she has a sinking suspicion of what it might be. thinking fast, she switches gears] Uh, need a 'and with that?

[The sound of impending scolding is very recognisable, and Shinichi scowls, readying himself to fight back.

When the expected telling-off doesn't come, he's non-plussed but still mutinous.]

I can make a sandwich by myself.

[Sherlock has come to the kitchen for his every-few-days meal. But he didn't quite notice Conan the first time. And by not notice, he means he was ignoring him. There are time he doesn't like getting involved - well, that's most times really. But this time, he was actually more concerned about getting food. He had pushed his limits this time - as he did occasionally and had gone 5 days without eating. Oh he drank fluids, dehydration can be quite deadly. But food is overrated.

He found a sandwich in the refrigerator so took that - what? It wasn't labeled, so it was fair game for anyone. Sandwich... didn't he just pass someone eating off the floor? He comes back around to where he can see Conan and with his mouth half-full of sandwich, he addresses the youth.]

I hope you're going to clean that up.

[Sherlock swallows the bite before replying.]

Yes... you're making a sandwich... and creating a mess as you do so. Banana peel on the floor instead of in the trash. Peanut butter lid not replaced, peanut butter on your elbow, honey on your chin and lord knows where else. For the health and safety of everyone else, I hope you plan to clean up your mess.

[Shinichi looks down. Huh. He doesn't remember that banana peel getting there ... or the peanut butter. Bossy stranger might have a point ... but Shinichi is not going to let himself be bossed around!]
