[002]

[Shiro's back on the plane! And this time, he's sitting down, staring up at the sky, and then down... at the sky again. Like you do.

He looks... thoughtful, as it were. As thoughtful as he can look, anyway.]

Stars, huh? I wonder if they're warm. They sure are bright! And shiny. There's a whole lot of 'em here. I bet they don't need all of 'em.

[He stands up and pats his pants down even if that does nothing, because he's forgotten there isn't any snow out here to stick to him.]

I should go ask someone!

[And lo, a convenient someone is hanging around the Plane, presumably trying to find a few minutes to breathe, with all the preparations regarding Grey going on.]

Hello, Shiro. My name is Mu, remember?
lamb_of_gold: (Happy: Peace)

Of course I do, and of course you may.

If it helps at all, perhaps think of the Moon?

Stars? Yes, they are quite warm, but they are also very far away. Too far for us to feel their warmth, certainly.

The moon? It's the large round white object that you see at night - much larger and brighter than stars.

What would you do with stars?
lamb_of_gold: (Happy: allow me to explain)

[personal profile] lamb_of_gold 2012-03-15 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid not. You wouldn't want them much closer, anyways. Stars are actually suns that are millions of miles away.

[Prempting....]

The Sun being the large bright object in the sky in the daytime.

I'm afraid not, Shiro. They're far away, but they're many times larger than us. You'd burn up before you even got close to one.

Is something the matter?

lamb_of_gold: (Happy: Amused)

I'm afraid not. Your grandfather, perhaps?

Hmm, perhaps it will come to you in time.

The best thoughts come unbidden, sometimes. You oughtn't worry about it.

[Time for a change of subject so Shiro doesn't mope.]

Have you seen any constellations?
lamb_of_gold: (Happy: Spirit)

[personal profile] lamb_of_gold 2012-03-16 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Constellations are pictures the stars make. Would you like me to show you a few?

Ask someone what? [Doc is wandering the Plane sans wall today, and looking perfectly cheerful--or, as cheerful as a man in full body armor and a helmet can look, anyway]
