[Mu is standing in a fairly populated place on the Plane. His arms are crossed in front of him, but in one hand he's holding a relatively old, basic cell phone - the one that was given to him years ago by someone no longer on the Plane.]

I received a message several nights ago with potentially worrying contents. I'd like to know if I was the only one.

[The tone of his voice leaves no question as to where he thinks it came from.]

[as soon as she sees him holding the phone--a rather odd sight, considering who it is--she starts in his direction. she has a feeling she knows what he's here about, and his words only confirm that] You aren't the only one.

Was yours from our little mate Grey, too?

[the Doctor's own message is sitting in a forwarded voicemail on the mobile phone he has in his pocket. when he sees Mu with the very, very, very ancient phone (to him, anyway), he can't help stopping]

Hold on a mo', you got one as well?

[Wash makes a beeline for Mu the moment he spots him. he wants to speak to him anyway, so it works!] If it involves receiving a message at an impossible time? Then yes, I got one too. It seems I started the security taskforce just in time.

[He's a bit surprised to see her, actually.]

It was, yes. Are you well enough to persue this?

[lamb_of_gold]

[2006 chic right here.]

From our friend in the shop, yes.

[grip_on_reality]

[oh, not him too. she's finally back at work after the time off Turnbull forced her to take, and the other officers are still treating her like glass. she hates it]

[curtly] I'm fine. What was your message about?

[lamb_of_gold]

What do you suppose it means?

[South usually isn't one to speak up, but this has been bothering the hell out of her for a while. So...]

... Yeah. I got a message, too.

[lamb_of_gold]

If you insist. [And he leaves it there.]

It seems a man named "Owain" has been meddling with things that are not his. The name means nothing to me, unfortunately. One moment, I will play it.

[After a moment of fiddling, the message plays.]

[lamb_of_gold]

Oh? From our friend in the shop, I presume?

[traitortwin]

[She nods.] It was him, all right. But how did it happen? How did we get them, and at times that... aren't real?

[lamb_of_gold]

Good questions all, but I don't have an answer to any. What time did yours arrive at?

[grip_on_reality]

[flatly] I do. [and she's quite happy to leave it at that]

[she frowns at the message] Seems he's a bit obsessed with writing. [fishing in her pocket, she pulls out her own mobile--one that's a bit outdated for 2011, as it's a flip phone. in any case, she opens it and plays her own voicemail]

[lamb_of_gold]

That's worrying. Do you think we ought to pay him a visit?

[grip_on_reality]

Tried that. [see, she's perfectly well enough to pursue this] Turns out he's still there, so whatever's going on, it hasn't changed that. [she sighs] Trouble is, long as he's there, we're not gonna get a look at his notebooks.

[lamb_of_gold]

Hm. How troublesome. I wonder if there's a way to distract him, or lure him away from the front...

[grip_on_reality]

[she nods--she's been thinking about the same thing] If you get any ideas, let me know. Far as I can tell, he never moves.

[traitortwin]

3:67 AM. [She does not sound impressed.] Supposedly.

I don't know if we got the same thing. To me, it sounded like one of the men in the shop had a friend in danger, someone named Marcellius. But he's...[trails off, unsure about the context of the next word]: "special" or something--and also can bring him to a cave for a confrontation.

Another puzzling thing is the fact that the message probably wasn't meant for me. There's someone else involved in all of this, with Grey, Marcellius, and someone Grey lost named Sammy.

[slow nod] I thought he sounded familiar. Bit difficult to be certain, though, considering the man sounded like he was having a psychotic break. [pulls out his phone and cues up the voicemail, holding the phone out to Mu]

[lamb_of_gold]

[He frowns, hearing that message, then plays his own.]

This worries me.

[lamb_of_gold]

I will have to think on it. My only current idea involes physically restraining him and that's hardly polite.

[Mu plays his own message]

Perhaps not, but given what I've heard so far, I have no doubt they're related.

How strange. Mine came at exactly the same time.
