Oh, great.

[South Dakota already has her magnum drawn, though she isn't aiming it at anything/one yet. Besides, if there's anything/one around to try her, it's not like she can't shoot from the hip well enough.]

[She puts one hand lightly against the side of her helmet.] This is Agent South Dakota. I'm in an unknown location. I'm not getting any records on this place, and I don't see a way out. Please respond. [She waits for a few seconds, even though she can already tell that her call never even went through, especially when her first hint was that her helmet's computer wasn't picking anything up.] ... Or not.

[She takes a look around - a good one this time, not just a cursory glance. She takes in everything she can actually see from her position... and it doesn't help the confusion at all.]

Who the hell would put all of this here...? And why?

[She bites her lip, considers... and sees the information kiosk! She approaches, skeptical.]

... You're kidding.

[She picks up a brochure (Brax's) and starts reading. ... Care to interrupt the young woman in a full-body suit of armor with a gun in her hand?]

[WEll he's not going to interrupt, but there's a fellow with rather outlandish hair taking a walk nearby, should South notice]

[Why yes, yes he will. Because South Dakota looks like a soldier from some kind of futuristic movie and that is awesome.]

Woaaah! Are you an actress? Are they gonna film a movie here on the Plane?

[Now there's a curious 13-year-old hovering around South Dakota checking out her awesome armor and trying not to squee. He's a big fan of cheesy action movies.]

[Oliver strides over, though he doesn't get too close. this woman definitely looks unnerving. still, his tone is cheerful] Nope! It's all true. But don't worry--if you want to leave, that's easy. And welcome to the Astral Plane, by the way!

[South would have noticed sooner if she'd set her motion trackers upon suddenly appearing in a strange, space-looking place, but of course she didn't. Regardless, she does spot him out of the corner of her eye and looks up from the brochure. She doesn't say anything, just watches him. For now.]

[Nevertheless, he feels eyes on him, and turns to look. One of his brow markings raises at the look of her armour. Too bad he's in his civvies.]

Can I help you?

[fjaskl What. She takes two steps away from him, glaring from behind her visor.]

Hey. Back off, kid. And what the hell are you talking about?

[Well... a threat wouldn't ask if they could help you. Not sincerely, anyway. Not like she needs help anyway. Except she probably does, but she's not going to own up to that. She keeps her tone entirely indifferent when she speaks.]

No. I've got it.

[She comes very close to aiming her gun at him, but doesn't. Instead, she puts the brochure away, stands a bit straighter and watches him very carefully.]

Yeah. Just read that. So who are you? [One of the people mentioned in the brochure? Could she be that lucky?]

[Yeah he totally can't see that glaring, so he doesn't think anything is wrong.]

It looks like you're dressed to be in some awesome action movie or something. Or...

Oh, I'm Oliver! Nice to meet you. [he waves] Did you say your name's South Dakota? Like...in America? [his excited curiosity is starting to overcome his caution]

[She nods]

... Hey. .. What's this about test subjects? [Something she is obviously not thrilled about.]

Freelancer. [Pause] Though I guess you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?

[She fights the urge to roll her eyes.]

Trust me, it's not a movie.

[Not anyone in charge. Damn.]

Yeah, something like that. ... Why?

It is what you think. Things simply happen, with far ranging effects. Why, we don't know.

[She practically growls.] They must be pretty persistent, then.

[since she's not attacking him, he's going to let caution go to the wind now] That's so cool! So you're from Earth? Did you say agent?

Nope! But it sounds pretty cool. What does a freelancer do? Do you fight off aliens and save the world? Or is this one of those "futuristic war"-thingies where it's all humans fighting?

[while he's wary of the gun, and unsure if the person in that suit or whatever is human (he can only ascertain she's most likely female from the voice he heard just now), if she's at the kiosk...] Erm, excuse me. Did you need any help? Those things only say so much...

I do jobs the other soldiers can't handle. [So maybe she sounds a little smug, saying that.]

Save the world-... You know what, kid? That's classified. [Oh yes, she's pulling that. Because she just plain doesn't want to talk about it.]

[Oh for crying out loud...! She ignores the first question entirely.]
