[when Menzies appears on the Plane, she looks far calmer than the last time. and not only has she regained her composure, but she is no longer wearing gloves. for those who know her, she looks like her normal self again--right down to seeming a bit exasperated. but that's okay because this time, she's at the bar]

[she sighs, musing to herself] You know, somehow I didn't miss the paperwork. [pouring a pint, she takes a seat] Or the DCI. [she smiles wryly] Still, nice to get back to the usual sort of cases. Robbery, a bloke's wife beat up his girlfriend, one of the Trigillans caused another road accident by shorting a car's electrical system...

And yet, somehow, here I am. [she pauses to take a long drink--but then she turns, realising there's someone else at the bar with her. she sets her glass down] And it looks like I'm not alone. Please tell me this isn't a sign that there's something new and exciting happening around here. Because if it is? I'm going back to the paperwork and the Trigillans.

[in any case, she's glad for the distraction from actually doing the paperwork] I don't know what they look like really, but their human forms are always short. Apparently, they can control electrical currents with their minds. Only somehow, they claim that cars don't always do what they're supposed to. But I think a few of them just get bad cases of road rage, really.

[she smiles, amused] Well, thank god for that.

[but that earns him a snort] You better stop there or you might run out of questions. Let's see... [she thinks for a moment] About 5 feet. And I'd wager they're using a DNA patch, but you know, I've never tried removing it to see. Oh, and their strange car trouble! You know, if it was because of other cars around, I don't know how they'd ever get anything done on their mobiles. Or why it's always one of the same four of 'em causing the road accidents. Funny thing, that.

[she looks at him curiously] Well, that's one bit of good news. I was thinking more along the lines of more candy that turns people into their worst fears or mysterious disappearances and murders, so coming and going 'll do just fine.

Little thing, sorta like a microchip. It makes you look like you're something else--in this case, human. But not all the out-of-towners use it. The Trigillans might just look like that naturally. [she shrugs]

Hah! You know, the whole thing'd be a lot less complicated if they did.

[Menzies makes a face, agreeing wholeheartedly with his wonderful statement of optimism] Sounds about right.

[she raises an eyebrow] Phoenix? Yeah, you could say that. Not as long as most--maybe four months. So you're new, then?

[He would just introduce himself as Ikki if he didn't put the Saint persona before the man, but that doesn't really matter. Neither it matters to him how others call him.]

[she makes a face] Yeah, until they do it to enough different cars that somebody gets suspicious and starts an investigation. And, as it's a funny case, guess whose desk it wound up on.

[she very purposefully crosses her arms over her chest. sorry, no handshakes today. and she's not letting him get a rise out of her, either] Colleagues, huh? What's a "PG" exactly?

[she shrugs] I'm not exactly picky. It's just an interesting name. [then again, she knows she shouldn't really expect other universes to follow naming conventions she's used to]

Excitement? [she snorts] Not in a million years, Doctor. These days, minor alien crises are how I avoid all the excitement of invasions and near-death experiences that somehow, miraculously, happen every time I get near you.
