Awoooo!

[Max ran as fast as his little feet could take him through the woods that he's been playing in for a day or so. Now? Now the wolf needed to play a different game, and he knew where to go. He'd go to the Colosseum and see about where they might have kept the tigers. Maybe he could play in there. Play gladiator, and he was the wolf. Or maybe he'd play the gladiator instead. Bet there was some armor there to. Would any fit? He'd find out!]

[Once there, he entered the place and marveled at the huge pillars the stadium seating, which his history teacher had said was the first of it's kind. Max didn't know it was supposed to be a joke. Nobody in class did. The teacher just cleared his throat and went on with the lesson.] Where's the armor? [Max asked nobody in particular.] Must be in the back.

[A dark shadow sweeps across Max's line of vision. It belongs to someone who really does look like he could fight tigers in a ring-- a tall, knightly sort, complete with a small buckler strapped to his arm, and a sword on his hip. He rests one hand on the hilt as he stares down at the boy.]

This is a dangerous place to play.

[In the coliseum, there is not a knight but a princess. A queen, rather, but that doesn't sit well on her, and she still thinks herself more a lady than a royal. She does not think herself the inheritor of the fallen Roman Empire that once held sway over her birthland.

When there is a boy, though, she is a little surprised.]
I am not so certain there is armour here.

You are free to, but take care. [She has the slightest smile.] We did not have coliseums to play in when I was young, but we still found ways to get scrapes and bruises. And I'm afraid I'm no physician.

[He is unmoving and stern, reminiscent of a tall rock.]

People come here to train and fight. It's an arena, not a playground.
