[ Shortly after arriving on the plane, a girl ties a ribbon around her neck.

It's large, and covers it almost completely, to the point of looking nearly ridiculous if she just wasn't one of those girls, with curls bouncy enough and a face innocent enough to pull it off. What looks so strange, so bizarre, is how tightly she pulls it, almost as if she were choking herself, but she gives no coughing noises or any indication she's in discomfort.

She wants to make sure it stays on. It's residual. Her head won't fall off in the Plane. Part of her knows that.

But the delirious sensation of death upon trying to return to her world has put fear into her. Now, she is alone.

So tighter and tighter she pulls the ribbon. ]

[Ignoring his magnificent get-up, Jade still manages to have the red-eyed bespectacled interest of a mad scientist who occasionally forgets that he's not supposed to be a mad scientist any longer.] If you aren't careful, you'll choke yourself.

And she lets go. ]

I'm simply making sure it's tight.

[ It's her Puella Magi's outfit, only because her other changes of clothes didn't have a place for the ribbon. ]

[Richter doesn't seem to notice the girl as he walks by, nose buried in a book. He would have walked straight on past if he hadn't caught sight of her move to... tighten the ribbon around her neck?

Lowering his book, the half-elf turns to look at the girl] You'll hurt yourself if you keep that up.

It doesn't hurt. As long as I don't get that ill feeling, I want to keep it as tight as possible.

[he stares at her for a moment, disbelieving] I don't see the practical use of it.

If you lose it once, it's only natural to not want to lose it again.

I'll never get used to the rules in this place. I take it you can't return to your home either, then?

There's probably a better way to make yourself feel secure other than possibly choking yourself.

I told you, it wasn't uncomfortable. [ Tilting her head and leaning down-- that made her uncomfortable. ] I feel fine, now.

[he doesn't see how choking yourself was uncomfortable but doesn't press it] Good luck.

[Mami will be approached by a tall and imposing man with long blonde hair, dressed in black. Twin wolf-ears twitch on either side of the fedora he wore atop his head.

He watched the girl in mild amusement.]

[ She's still tugging that bow tightly, but eventually, she'll have to cough and let go. She'll go through a few motions after that. Rolling her head, tilting it down and then back, as if... she's making sure the ribbon keeps her head on. ]

That depends on what you're using for. Though I agree that the tighter the binding is, the less likely somebody can grab it in battle to set you off-balance.

Well, it hurts just a bit, but that pain is more or less residual.

[ She decides not to beat around the bush. It never helps anyone to be cryptic and after her long conversation with Heero, she's not one for secrets of this nature. ]

I'm a permanent resident of the plane now, I guess. I think the ribbon is just me making sure this stays on.
