[It's not at all strange to find people in the library. In fact, it might be the most normal, mundane activity a character can do. Aster is one of the people who enjoys sitting and reading for hours on end, researching every little thing he can get his hands on.

So it's not at all strange to find piles of books, nearly resembling a fort, in an area he frequently reads in. Energy, uses of energy, books on physics and complicated large texts next to piles of papers writtten in his own handwriting. Some are notes, others are theories, some are even scribbles. Closer inspection will reveal that Aster is no where to be found. That is unless your character happens to look up when they hear a voice.

On top of the book shelf, Aster is stuck with another small pile of books that he pulled. How he got up there is anyone's guess. ]

I could try climbing down, but I couldn't bring these with me.

[He sits cross legged and shuts his eyes.]

No, that wouldn't work either.

[Emil is trying to guess that, actually, as he picks his way through the book fort and discovers the hiding place of the boy who looks just like him.]

... Do you need help?

[Matti was just looking through those books when she heard the voice. She looks up and immidiately manages to send herself into panic mode.]

A-A-Aster..! A-are you... I-I mean... h-h-how did you even get up there...?

[He sees Emil and expected a different tone from him. It's not what Aster expected. That's strange. Aster waves down at him with a sheepish smile.]

Hello, Emil.

Yes. It seems to look that way.

[Where's that voice coming from? Oh. He looks over the edge and smiles down at her. Aster doesn't look too concerned about his situation as he waves.]

Hello, Canada!

I believe there was a ladder at one point. It seems to have gone missing now.

[And she thought sis was thoughtless.]

D-did you really go all the way up there for some books....? O-oh maple....

[He feels his stomach sink into the floor. Try as he might, he just can't smile back. Tenebrae and Marta filled him in as much as they could, but nothing could really prepare him for this meeting. It's worse than when he saw the video message, because all his doubts about his identity are sitting right in front of him, and he can't deny it anymore.

Still, he's brimming with questions. They fight with each other to the point where nothing can make it out.]

... oh.

[And suddenly, inexplicably, he wants to cry.]

[Goddess, he remembers Aster's habits from Sybak but this was just a little ridiculous wasn't it?

Richter maneuvers through the book fort at this own pace, stopping occasionally to take a look at what his friend was doing before continuing. He stops with a sigh once Aster's voice drifts down from higher up]

Somehow, I'm not surprised...

Aster!

[The smile he wore immediately vanishes from his face the longer he looks at Emil. Today there's something different. He can tell in the way Emil talks, the way he acts and even how he holds himself. Aster lays on his stomach to look at him closer and stares down with a concerned expression.]

...Emil? Are you okay?

Of course! They looked interesting.

[Still smiling away like nothing's wrong.]

How are you?

[Hearing Richter's voice makes him go from full on concentration to attentive smiles in a few seconds. He lowers a hand, waves, and grins.]

Richter! It's good to see you.

[He raises up a book, the title probably impossible to see, and says cheerfully.]

I found so many great books up here. It's incredible.

[he doesn't wave back, just shakes his head with a hand on his hip]

That's nice to hear but did you have a plan for getting back down? [Richter's attention moves back to floor level. Shouldn't there be a ladder around here somewhere...?]

Not yet. I'm in the process of figuring it out.

[There should be one somewhere. That's how he got up there, at any rate. Maybe they took it far away when this short kid disappeared at the top.]

[muttered;] Still got a few screws loose in there...

[at normal volume;] Well, whatever those books are, they better be worth all this trouble. How you can keep that chipper attitude when you're stuck on top of bookshelves, I will never know.

[there aren't any ladders in the immediate area, so Richter will probably end up wandering off to retrieve one eventually]

G-get down from there before you hurt yourself...! Th-then we can chat...! [Aster doesn't have to worry, because Matti will worry enough for the both of them, and then some. That's how it usually is.]

[Staaare.]

Aster! Be careful up there, you're going to fall!

[He just can't handle this. That person saying his name just-- it breaks him. He tears his eyes away from Aster's own, swallows a whimper.]

I... it's fine. I'm fine. Let's just get you down. [His voice is flat and quiet.] I have something to give you.

[Canada it's going to be okay. It's not like he's deliberately hanging off the edge or something inane like that.]

Don't worry. I won't hurt myself. I'm currently trying to think of a way to do that.

[It would be easier if he was willing to leave the books behind.]

[Stares right back down. Also, he waves. Isn't that nice?]

Hello, Marta. Don't worry. As long as I don't move too much, I don't believe I'll fall.

[After the general insanity she gets from America,England, France, etc, she can never be too careful.]

U-um... c-can't you just... throw those d-down here, then c-come down...?

[His notes. Aster knows that's what it is immediately and while he has some from Richter, he's interested in seeing what Emil happened to pick up. That desire to know is pushed back by worry and concern. He shuts his eyes, pushes himself back up to a sitting position and looks at the ground. As much as he would like to read these books, caring for people is more important than research.]

Do you see a ladder nearby? There was one, but I knocked it over.

[It might be taken away by now. In which case, he can just attempt to climb down.]

They are!

[Richter might not agree. They're more than likely not worth all the trouble he went through to get him, but he believes they are. That's the important thing.]

There's no sense in getting upset. Besides, the view up here is nice.

[The view of so many books. He wants to read them all.]

[were this anyone else Richter was talking to, there would have most likely been a slightly incredulous 'Really?' reply... But since this was Aster - and a very pleased sounding one - he was dealing with, instead he just shakes his head]

I'll leave you to enjoy that view then. Give a shout when you feel like coming back down.

[he says he's going to leave but he's more than likely just wandering off to find a ladder for Aster to climb down]

I feel like coming down!

[No Richter where are you going come back! He's going to be stuck up here forever.

By the time he gets back, he'll figure out a way down with all his books. That's what he thinks at any rate.]

If could just find a way to throw the books down without damaging them.

[Poor Canada. She never catches a break.]

I could, but it's possible I could damage the books that way.

J-just... I-I'll try to catch them... o-okay...? [She sets her notebook on the floor to prepare herself, but looks nervous about catching falling objects ~~without using her face~~.]
