❀ 6 - The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades

[things have been rather interesting for Donna recently, though she thoroughly loved having the power to create anything and had a field day making every single article of clothing, all her shoes, and her hats (just in case) impervious to anything that could potentially destroy them. it's been a real boon, lately, to have--even if she didn't foresee having to leave behind a new pair of boots behind in the mud on some flipping planet being invaded by centaurs. she's still a bit sore about that one.

fortunately, that's the farthest thing on her mind as she appears, shrieking, on the Plane.]

What was that?! Oh my god, what the hell was that?!

[she would look completely shocked and frightened, but she's currently wearing high-tech sunglasses that completely obscure her eyes and eyebrows.]

Donna?! Hey, hey, it's all right. It's ok.

[oliverplus]

[Oliver is shocked by her sudden appearance--and by the noise that's come with it. he would comment on her impressive set of lungs if he weren't so worried] Donna, what's wrong!? What happened?

[darkercalling]

[Riku isn't exactly sure what's going on, but she looks like she's in trouble (and could probably wake the dead with that scream of hers), so he rushes over.]

Hey. What's wrong?

Donna? [Jamie quickly looks around, trying to see what it is that might have startled her, but everything looks fine to him.]

What is it? Are ye all right?

[most_feared]

[The space cop in him demands that any scream be met with prompt investigation. So soon she has an Agent K hovering near her with a hint of a concerned expression.] What's the matter?

Huh, what are--[sees Christine and visibly relaxes, her heart still racing]--oh, it's you. I didn't think I'd ever be grateful for this place, but I am. [doubles over, taking a deep breath]

[hypospraying]

Hey, what happened? [She comes over and bends over next to her, setting a hand on the woman's shoulder.]

[somewhat incredulously] "What's wrong?" I'll tell you what's wrong! I was running away from these big green things--I can't remember what the hell he called them before we got separated--and the moment one of them got close, I shot this...[searches for a way to properly describe it]...dark ball of something at it from out of my hand!

What isn't?! This was supposed to be a trip to the best flipping botanical gardens, not "Little Shop of Horrors: Audrey's Leafy Revenge"! [she sighs loudly into her hands] Just once...just once I'd like to go some place where I'm not having to run for my life every thirty seconds.

[gives Riku an exasperated look, though the exasperation is definitely not directed at him] Is that so hard to ask?

[darkercalling]

[He hasn't the slightest idea what a little shop of horrors is, but it doesn't sound all that great, especially if she was running for her life... He shakes his head.]

Depends on where you are, sometimes. I know the feeling. [A pause.] Need help?

[oliverplus]

[stares at her] You...you what!? [it takes a second, but it does soon dawn on him what that probably means] You mean you lost something, too?

I--yeah, I'm all right. Blimey, Jamie, you wouldn't believe what just happened. [she's still having trouble coming to terms with it herself--and she's seen/done some pretty strange things!]

[she considers him for a second before she speaks. just from his tone and overall look, she pegs him as some sort of authoritative figure] Ohhh, what isn't? Would you like the long story or the short one?

[doesn't look up just yet] We were running away from this great, big flipping creatures when something happened and I found myself separated from the Doctor. But those things were still after me. Nearly got me a few times there. [glances at Christine through a part in her hair; the look in her eyes is distant as she whispers:] And then I stopped them.

[gives him the hint of a wry smile] Never in the same place for long, sweetheart. And I'm not exactly sure how you can help me either--unless you happen to be an expert on everything extremely mad and random.

[gives him a look that she hope clearly conveys that she's not going to repeat herself]

If you mean my favourite ring my best mate gave me, then yes, but what does that have to do with me shooting something like that?

Short one gets things taken care of quicker. Long one is for when there's no pressure.

[And he knows all about pressure. Damned countdowns.]

[Donna's tone of voice worries Christine just a little.] How, Donna? Can you tell me how you stopped them from chasing you?

[darkercalling]

Random, maybe. Maybe not mad.

[oliverplus]

[carefully keeps his voice very calm, putting his hands up placatingly] It's all right, Donna. You got the note, right? You got somebody's ability when you lost your ring. That's all. It's temporary!

[bonnypiperlad]

Aye, well, I'd not be so sure about that. [He's seen a few strange things in his time as well, remember?]

[her lips twitch into the faintest of smiles] Got that one right. [her smile fades] Well, I had these powers, not exactly sure why, but then they went away, right? But then I got this letter telling me something of mine was missing and...I think they might be back but I don't know how or why it happened. I just know they're not the same and now I can make dark balls of energy come out of my hands.
