[Perhaps you haven't seen the Doctor about for a while. Well, there's a reason for that: namely, she hasn't been about for a while. It's a funny old world. Anyway, she's here now, and there's a few things to take note of.

1. Somehow, she has managed to get an excellent tan.
2. She is eating what appears to be an ice cream cone roughly half the size of her head.
3. She wears a floppy hat now. Floppy hats are cool.
4. Also, she is just coming in from Elatonem, a lovely little planet well known for its beaches and wind-surfing. Less well known, however, is the chemical embedded in the ground which, while perfectly harmless, does have a certain... mood-lifting effect on those of a Gallifreyan disposition.
5. She swears that wasn't in the pamphlets.

But hey, at least she looks happy!]

[Compared to the icecream-eating Doctor and her healthy tan, Gin seemed like a gloomy embodiment of death, clad in his usual dark coat and matching fedora, while smoking a cigarette, just as he always did.

He doesn't walk over or make any move to greet her, but he does seem to be looking in her direction, although it's hard to tell with the hat shading his eyes.]

[He blinks once or twice, slowly, as if expecting her approach to be some product of his imagination or a momentary defect in his vision that he might right into non-existence by simply blinking.

No go. Oh, well, he's gotten himself into this by staring, hasn't he?

He must hate cheer. His dull green eyes give her a cold, hard stare from under his hat's shade.]

Hello. [His voice is deep and calm enough, though speaks in something of a rasp, doubtless due to all the smoking.]

Doctor! [Right on cue - well, almost on cue - Jamie appears, happy as always to see to see the Doctor. Of course, he's going to express said happiness by complaining at her first.]

Where have ye been? I've not seen ye in ages.

[Don't get him wrong, though. Judging from his tone, he's more pleased about it than he's letting on.]

[Oliver grins at the sight of the happy and ice-cream bearing Doctor] Doctor! Where've you been?

He tips his hat to give her another empty stare. Usually, one look into his merciless eyes is enough to scare off most people.

[Alcohol, aversion of genocide, same happiness factor.]

[Hugs are good. Very good. And Jamie is not about to let the chance to have some escape him, so he's going to return the hug, and pick back up on the conversation after it's over.]

Ye missed a lot this time, though.
