Projections 12-15

[realitymods]

[It begins with a fight between Jamie and Axel, old Scotsman against a Redcoat. Or at least somebody seen to be a redcoat.]

[This is followed quickly by Oliver and Saga discusses the choices they have made. Some of them very bad choices. It stops where Oliver admits what he is afraid of]

[A few hours later, the Doctor in a past body talks to Olivia, but the conversation shorts out when the Doctor asks if she is comfortable. There is a high-pitched screech accompanied by the whine of gears, then the projection cuts in again as Olivia's clothes come into discussion, stopping once more as the Doctor confesses that he has seen worse]

[Then, there is something like a crash throughout the Plane, the hiss of steam or something like it. the Doctor in a past body and Lucy as a child converse, and this time when the projection ends, there is a distant thud. Then silence.]

[Oliver's expression is sad but unsurprised when the Plane continues to showcase his weaknesses. he's so tired of it by now that he doesn't even bother getting angry]

[but seeing Olivia, ohhh, that is something else entirely. Oliver's jaw pretty well hits the floor. he gapes at the hologram, working his mouth like a fish almost the entire time it's playing. particularly when he--she--slaps the Doctor. even after it's over, he continues to stare at where the image was. he might be in shock. feel free to disturb him if you like]

I liked her.

[That was far too sincere. Brax really does prefer the company of women, sorry!]

[oliverplus]

[Oliver is still wide-eyed when he turns to Brax] Yeah? Uh...that's good... [he is just oozing awkwardness at the moment. HOW DO YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR FEMALE SELF?]

[collector]

She had more grace.

[And now you are being teased. Way to go Oliver.]

[oliverplus]

[he might be a little red] Well. She was...smaller.

[because when you can think of nothing else to say, it's time to resort to the obvious]

[Axel is faintly surprised to see himself in a projection. Up until this point it's been people he vaguely knows, or doesn't know, and none of his business.

When the fight is over, Axel simply says:]

That song is pretty catchy.

Hey. What's with that look? I don't think they're voting you off the island anytime soon.

[oliverplus]

[turns to Axel, still looking quite dumbfounded, and tries to remember whether he had seen him as Olivia or not. he doesn't think so. but then again, the hologram did pretty well explain...]

N-nothing. [makes a face, latching onto the topic that HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM BEING A WOMAN] The Plane isn't like Survivor anyway.

[okay, now he's red. and sputtering] H-hey!

It's true. But I'm not into that, so.

[Axel is also underage if that makes any difference.]

[He's smiling.] So, Oliver. What do these holograms mean?

[oliverplus]

Well, good, 'cause I'm not a girl! [really, Axel, what were you getting at anyway?]

[thanks for embarrassing him enough to totally miss your point, Brax]

Huh? Uh...well, they're just showing things that already happened. I wasn't...I mean, I'm not really...

[He's just pushing shiny buttons.]

But if you were... nah, just kidding.

[He folds his arms behind his head and looks up.]

Wonder why they're picking on you so much.

Weren't you paying attention?

[oliverplus]

[blinks] Yeah! But...ohhh, you mean, like, in general. [he might be a little red now. he thought you were still poking fun at him]

[thinking about the Plane just leads him to make a face in disgust] Well, it means they're recording everything we do here, for one. [sighs] And not just here, either.

[oliverplus]

[considering his track record, if he were a girl, she'd probably slap you right now, so be glad he isn't and therefore he just gives you a very unamused look instead]

[grimaces] Wish I knew... Seems like it does that a lot.

[which isn't his ego talking at all. the Plane really does seem to spend a lot of time picking on Oliver, and he's really quite sick of it]

[collector]

Oh, we always suspected that. Something else.

[oliverplus]

[frowns, his expression growing more serious] You mean the noises?

[Axel is pleased. What a sadist. However, seeing how much the Plane picks on his little buddy annoys him.]

You're probably sick of hearing this, but I don't think you have much to worry about. All of this just proves that you're a great guy even though you've been through a lot. [He grins at Oliver fangishly. There's truth to his words, and maybe even a streak of admiration.] I dunno what side of the universe you're from, but that's a hard thing to find nowadays.

[oliverplus]

[blinks, glancing at Axel in surprise at that] Uh...wow. Thanks. [he really isn't sure what else to say, but he gives Axel a slightly-embarrassed smile]

[collector]

[A nod] I don't know about ou, btu to me, that sounds like a machine under duress.

[oliverplus]

Yeah. I mean, after what happened when this all started, too... And the Twins are gone. But what does all that really mean?
