Holograms 7, 8, & 9

[Ten is popular in the holograms today: as the Valeyard, he appears in conversation with Oliver. Until it gets that much darker, and 'conversation' ceases to be the right word for it.]

[Right on its heels, it's the Doctor and Jamie discussing their choices.]

[The instant that is finished, it's the same people, but a very different conversation as this darker Doctor talks to his old friend. And it is a little different from the others in another respect: instead of taking place on the Plane, this one takes place in the TARDIS.]

[In each hologram, the conversations blur together a little at the ends, and flicker once or twice throughout.]

[Kratos watches the projections with little change in his expression. He's merely an observer. He offers no advice, no judgments, no rationale for what's been chosen.

Would his life be shown next? Could he even tell the difference between the nightmares in his head and the ones shown here?

... Well.

This place is shaping up to be something much more dangerous than what he first assumed.]

Apparently not. [Jamie's voice is quiet, somewhat subdued-sounding. While he can't say he's entirely surprised by what the Valeyard did to Oliver, given what he went through, that was hard to watch. As for the ones he was in...well. Those weren't much easier.]

I've not seen anything with ye in it, though.

[this time, Oliver is silent as the holograms play. during the first, he looks away. he has no need to see what the Valeyard did to him again. in fact, he thinks of dropping from the Plane, but morbid curiosity--both about how far this hologram might go and what might follow--keeps him there]

[thankfully, the second hologram causes him to wince more in sympathetic embarrassment than anything else. he remembers what it was like to interact with the Doctor during that]

[but the third... Oliver closes his eyes when it ends, clenching his fists at his sides]

Doctor! Of course, the only time I actually see him here is--[she stops, her eyes widening as she takes in what she's seeing in the first hologram]--no. That can't be him. [she watches, covering her mouth in horror. as the hologram continues to progress and the events grow more violent, she can't help the tears that trickle down her cheeks. she doesn't even think of using her god powers to get rid of it.]

That isn't him. That just isn't...

We should not have to see this. Not when it cannot be changed.

[Her friends were being forced to relive something that they should not have experienced in the first place. It had her blood boil.]

No. But we've not got much choice in the matter, it seems. [He unconsciously rubs at his arm where it was cut by the Valeyard.]

Yes, but it was an experiment. It's not the Doctor's fault.

But that does not make it any easier. And you know the Doctor as well as I do. He will not forgive himself easily.
