[Oliver is in the safety of the library, though he doesn't look like he feels safe at the moment. in fact, he's pacing up and down and around a group of aisles. every time he reaches the end of one, he stops and looks around him as if watching for someone. he's also babbling agitatedly to himself again, but at least this time it doesn't sound like a psychopathic brain worm]

Nobody yet? Maybe I should go out there... [turns into another aisle, pacing up it. his expression is harried] But there are monsters out there. It won't help if I get attacked! [scowls in frustration] But there has to be something I can do! [continues his pacing, crossing his arms over his chest]

Maybe I could... [stops in his tracks, looking briefly thoughtful. turns to one of the shelves, but then shakes his head and scowls again] No. If looking up the Horsemen doesn't help, what could? Looking up the monsters? No, that wouldn't help us solve the choices! But what can we do that would help!?

[grabs his head, crying out in frustration] Nnnnnngh, there has to be something!

[sighs, lowering his hands, and resumes walking toward the end of a row] Maybe I should go out there, see if I can at least help somebody... And find somebody. [pokes his head out of the aisle, looking at the area around him] Anybody...?

Asch! [his expression lights up at the sight of a familiar...well, glowing entity, and he hurries over to him] How are you?

Mu? [turns and, spotting his friend, breaks out in a bright smile] Hey, Mu! [jogs over to him]

Who were you looking for....? Are you alright?

[Asch is confused by the... sudden... cheerfulness. Why the hell is Oliver so happy to see him? HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RESPOND TO IT.] ... I-I'm fine. [He still manages to sound ticked off, but whatever. Ugh. God. He's had such a rough time lately, he just wants to save everyone and go home, and then...] What happened? You're acting strangely.

Yeah! Just glad to see you. It's been...[pauses, trying to put his feelings into words]...quiet. [his mind is very active at the moment--full of excited thoughts about Mu being here, but mixed with his worries about what to do about the situation on the Plane]

Huh? Nothing. Just, it's been...quiet, around here. It's good to see you.

Are you sure? You seem very excited about something.

[He normally doesn't worry unless something gives him cause to, but he can't stop the feeling from welling up in his gut]

[His eyes narrow. He sets the book aside and steps closer.] Quiet? Now I definitely know you've been in here too long. Tell me what's going on!

[raises an eyebrow] Well, yeah, 'cause I haven't seen you lately. And... [his expression sombers slightly] You haven't run away yet. I was afraid that...I might've scared you away.

But I haven't, so that's a relief!

Very little frightens me. Why would you think that?

[Does someone sound a bit hurt? I THINK SO!]

[frustrated] In here, nothing! That's the problem. There's so much going on, and I'm not doing anything about it!

But you're here now. Is there anything I can help you with? [he might just sound a bit desperate]

[cringes at that] I attacked a lot of people. I could've scared anyone away... [a prospect he's clearly very worried about]

I was fine. I told you that.

I know! But...well, I was worried. So it's really good to see you.

But did something happen, Mu? You look upset.

You can't fight. It's better that you stay in here and keep looking for answers. [He lets out a hiss through his teeth.] If you go off and try to fix things without thinking, I might not be able to...

[He turns away.] If you want to help me, then tell me anything you find out and-- and don't do anything stupid.

I feel upset, but I've no real reason to. I'm not an empath, so why do I feel like this?

[frowns worriedly] Did you get a choice?

No. Did you? Recently, I mean.

But I don't know how to find any!

Asch... [distressed, takes a step toward him when he turns away. starts to reach for Asch's shoulder, but stops himself] I won't! And I can do that. I've made a list! [fishes in his pocket, pulling out his datapad and holding it up triumphantly] Here! I've written out all the choices and everything else I've found out about. [shows Asch his current list]

[oliverplus]

[shakes his head] Not since the first one. I've just been seeing things lately.

You and I alike.

[okay, that didn't help his worry] Is it someone you miss, too?

My little one, Kiki. Except I saw him as a babe, sleeping in my arms. It's been some time since I've seen him.

[Oliver may feel an outpouring of the kind of love a parent feels for a child.]
