aut viam inveniam aut faciam

[An expert at childish games, Sebastian is happily hopping over the crates, a bottle of wine in one hand, Aloysius tucked under his other arm. He seems rather delighted with this entire scenario. At one point, he spins around to look at the splashes following him.]

[He observes to Aloysius:]

They are awfully friendly fish. It is a shame they do not sing.

[He hopes over to the last crate before the edge of the water. For a moment, he seems to consider splashing in the water himself before he goes. But then he remembers what he read in books when the fish appeared in Brideshead Castle's fountain, so he just makes the jump right out of the water, landing with more balance than he will be able to manage after that bottle is through with.]

[Charles and Jeremy are waiting when Sebastian lands, having winced and looked away with every hop Sebastian made. Charles looks over Sebastian's shoulder at the wine. Jeremy is just chilling like a lion.]

Next time, I will gather provisions and you can wait along the shore.

Don't be ridiculous. Someone must keep Jeremy company. Surely you must know that lions cannot swim. [Jeremy just offers a lazy yawn and lays down]

How does Aloysius feel about that eventuality?

[he watches Jeremy stretch out and get up with bored disinterest, before he goes to walk alongside Sebastian.] We will have to return tomorrow. If we are very lucky, the bar might even be surrounded by dry land.

I've never heard a fish sing. Do they do it often, desu?

[identity profile] dritte-tochter.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
What would they have to say? They're just fish, desu.

[identity profile] dritte-tochter.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
But they get all wet, desu. It's no fun being wet!

Don't be ridiculous. How do you suppose you might give a gift to an anonymous benefactor. I'm sure if they wished to be acknowledged, they would make it known who they are instead of leaving it there for you to find. A gift would be gauche and very much defeat the purpose.

[identity profile] suchatourist.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Are they? I was certain they had gone out of vogue ages ago. It really would be rather dreadful if they decided to reemerge now.

Oh, but perhaps you are right. This place is quite mad after all.

Of course. I have the utmost faith and devotion in your declarations. I take them as nothing less than gospel truth.

Could I ever be capable of doing that?

Like an umbrella in the rain?

[Gwen had been watching him jump around, with a look on her face that could be mistaken for annoyance but is most certainly concern. She seems relieved when he finally jumps to, er, 'safety.']

I've seen some odd things, but I don't think I've ever heard of fish singin'.

<3 <3! the pleasure is all mine

[The mixture of what he says and his smile makes her smile in return, the concern fading from her voice quickly.]

To be honest, I'd be a bit better if I was able to get home. But I guess there is worst places to be stuck... How are you doin', then?
