[There is a Dalek on the Plane.]

[The sense of menace that usually accompanies it is muted, somehow. The creature is still, unmoving, its eyestalk sagging lifelessly and its weapons array disabled. Closer inspection, if someone is bold enough, would reveal the reason for this unnatural stillness -- there is a gaping hole blown into the back of the Dalek’s upper casing.]

[...It’s best you don’t look in there. You may never view fried squid the same way again.]

[Crouched next to the Dalek is one Lord Founder Omega. There’s a hardness to him, at the moment, a grim smile on his face. He is carefully disassembling the casing, hands covered in thick welding gloves.]

[He actually seems quite pleased by this situation.]

[S'up, Omega. Guess who is not pleased by this situation? Oh yeah, this guy. There's a moment of pure, manic fear in his expression when he spots the Dalek, which only fades when he discovers it's dead.] Fantastic.

[well, it fades into anger, anyway] Now take this piece of filth back to wherever it came from, it doesn't belong here.

[Omega gives Nine an arrogant look.]

Don't presume to order me, Doctor. I shall do as I please.

[crosses his arms] You know what happens to dead things on the Plane, Omega? They get brought back to life. [he's terrified of the Twins seeing this and getting ideas]

[Damon is not actually bold enough to inspect that Dalek any closer than...several feet away. His own hands are gloved as well, but he has no intention of touching the thing.] Are you certain that's...safe, Lord Omega?

[Omega snorts, unconcerned, and resumes his work.]

Then I will destroy it once more. You may cower in fear from the vile thing, but I will not.

[Man, Omega's inheritors are wimps. He doesn't glance at Damon, but does give an irritated sigh.]

The creature is dead, and I require information.

[scowls] Not if I get to it first, you won't. I've got the perfect gun for it.

[He gestures towards the hole in the Dalek's armour with grim humour.]

As have I.

[Nine considers the hole, drops of the Plane, and returns with this bad boy (http://i56.tinypic.com/xp26b9.jpg). I wonder what Romana would say about his overcompensation syndrome.] Better than this one?

[he moves to Omega's side, though he's still somewhat wary. He's never actually seen a Dalek up close and personal before.] What sort of information? ...Do you need assistance?

[Unimpressed.] I have my stellar manipulator at my disposal.

[He feels that this tops everything in a technological pissing match, thank you.]

...Alright fine, you win. [but just this once] Still, this thing's more impressive than it looks.

If I am to destroy these wretched creatures, I need to know about them. That includes knowledge of their structure and biology.

[Brax replies with neither fear nor anger. A dead Dalek is a boring Dalek, good for nothing but dissection. Half-amusement is the order of the day.

As is annoying Omega with insincere formality.]

My Lord Founder, don't tell me you've been out hunting. I didn't think calamari would be to your tastes.

[Omega doesn't look at all concerned -- you're still not as irritating as the Doctor, Brax.]

The opportunity presented itself.

[Dead or not, clearly the Lady President does not approve of the Dalek being here, let alone being within twenty feet of it. While she does mind her tongue around him her expression is rather grim as she observes.]

I would think you could find better ways of spending your time than bringing such a thing to here.

[... All right, so she needs to work on keeping her attitude in check around the founder.]

[Omega gives her a cool look, unimpressed by the attitude.]

You would be wrong. There is hardly a better use for my time than devising a way to destroy an enemy of my people.

[No one is as irritating as the Doctor.]

It's nice to see you contributing to the war effort. I assume that is what this is? Not that I'd blame you if it was just out of curiosity, but if that were the case, I'd suggest a vivisection instead.

That war has not yet begun. I intend to see that it doesn't.

[This is all said quite matter-of-factly. If he wants it to happen, it will, even if the laws of the universe have to be bent to make it so.]

And you're taking it one Dalek at a time. I commend your dedication.

[frowns, taking a closer look...ewww, fried Dalek D:] It looks as though you've destroyed this one quite thoroughly already.

[Omega gives it a cursory glance while carefully removing another piece of the Dalek's outer plating.]

It appears inefficient and cumbersome.

[Brax's tone prompts a flat look from him.]

This was a chance encounter in my favour. The creature was searching for the Doctor.

[And since he biologically is the Doctor...]

Indeed. The elimination of the rest of its kind is my goal, however.

[He speaks very casually about genocide, doesn't he?]

[have a rather smug grin, Omega] Trust me, it's plenty sufficient. Got the job done just fine, thanks.
