[Arthur is sitting on a chair on the Plane. His sword and some cleaning tools are on the ground in front of him. Actually they're not on the ground, they are mid-air and the cleaning tools seem to be cleaning the sword themselves. Arthur glares at them, stuck between horrified and annoyed.]

[Brax looks at that with interest] I didn't know Camelot had antigravity technology.

I believe it can, indeed, Prince Arthur.

Antigravity. The science is a bit beyond you, but it essentially counters the force that draws objects towards those masses that curve spacetime---[he cuts himself off, then says,] It makes things not fall down.

[approaches from behind, peering over Arthur's shoulder] Ohh, don't see that everyday. Well, not unless you're on Givoni IV, but even then, you can see the thin strings connecting everything. But not these. How are they doing that, by the way?

[Merlin is quiet, just sort of staring. He's not sure what to think and he's torn between confusion, horror and happiness.]

[and as if on cue, the sword and company fall to the Plane floor]

[Braxiatel smiles pleasantly] It could be. But that seems very unlikely.

[and Arthur jumps, everything falling as he turns around and glares at the Doctor]

What are you going on about?

[and clatter clatter clatter everything falls. Arthur looks horrified and like someone caught doing something very, very bad]

Merlin, what are you... [he stands up] It's not what it looks like. Obviously.

Very unlikely doesn't mean impossible. [a beat] Why does it seem very unlikely?

Hm, well. That sort of force - the force required to work against the curvature of the universe itself - does require rather a bit of energy. From the looks of it, it would be rooting a converter of psionic energy through your mind and, essentially, translating it into a force both specific and strong enough to reshape spacetime. It's possible, yes, but you'd need far more psychic training to really carry it off. Magic seems the simplest solution, especially given its place in your universe.

[Merlin shakes his head, trying to be comforting now.]

No! No, it's...all right, Arthur. I know.

I'm sure you wouldn't call quantum mechanics simple either. [Braxiatel's pleasant tone suggests that Arthur would be wrong.] Why don't you list Merlin's help in hiding your new-found... talents?

[rolls his eyes and comes around to Arthur's side and waves a hand over the mess on the floor, more as a test, but it serves the dual purpose of illustrating his point] These things! What else would I be talking about? And I was right about the strings, by the way. There's nothing there--unless--[squats down, reaching to pick up Arthur's sword]
