trois

{In Robespierre's reality, it's been a few days, which has placed him (finally) in England. So with that small step out of many out of the way, he's finally going to confront the Plane. Or, rather, allow people to confront him if they wish about Oliver. His sword is still at his side, but looks at the eternal night sky coolly.}

It never truly becomes less magnificent and terrifying, does it? How she would love to see it. And how she would hate to see me, here.

{With that aside, he bows his head as he walks toward the library, which is basically his only hangout. He speaks more loudly than the previous sentences, reciting a Psalm from memory as he walks:}

You, O Lord, will protect us;
you will guard us from this generation forever.
On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among humankind...

[though he said he would stay in the forest waiting for Oliver, he finds himself walking out of it and remembers seeing the library. perhaps he can pick up a few books to while away his time while he waits and plots the downfall of the deathmatches.

the thing is...he almost ignores Robespierre--he doesn't look anything like the one the Doctor met all those centuries ago, so the Doctor almost walks right on by. until he hears the psalm, that is.]

I'm sorry, could you repeat that?

Psalm 12, correct? Or is that Psalm 13 I'm thinking of?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Watch it)

[he follows his gaze, his expression darkening]

Oh, the latter, but 'exceptionally' is an understatement. Am I correct in assuming your name is "Robespierre"?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Cold Stare)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-09 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I was afraid of that. [because if he's outside the Coliseum...then it's already done.] You know, it's shame Psalm 26 can never fully pass your lips again. Or any others of that nature. You just might be struck down as a liar.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Anger rising)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-09 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[actually, he knows a fair bit about your future self--at least the one in his universe.]

Oh, you're damn right I speak out of anger. I don't need any words of comfort, certainly not from you.

But how dare you assume it was his time to die, huh? What little rulebook or day planner in your head says, "Oh, Oliver Day is down for a one o'clock killing, followed by a nice cuppa after I've washed my hands of his blood."?!
bit_impossible: (Doctor-You gave me no choice)

Oh LJ, will your special never cease?

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-07-09 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
But by default it was, you can't deny that! You could have taken the honourable route and saved a good man from dying. A truly, honestly good man who could and would never kill even if his life depended on it. Which it did. He didn't raise a single finger against you, did he?

[bitterly, his voice low] Oh, and walk it you shall, and by the time you do reach the end of your path, you'll have wished you died this day instead of him.

[and with that, he walks away, soon dropping from the Plane, having entirely lost his interest in going to the Plane library]

[she waits until he finishes reading before speaking. it's only polite, after all]

Can I ask why?

[identity profile] brigadiertardis.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[sob why do my characters tend to hate yours Christy?]

You took what is mine.

[identity profile] elegantthestars.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
No one should have had to die.

[identity profile] brigadiertardis.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
[I THINK WE'RE JUST AWESOME or sommat]

You killed him.

[identity profile] elegantthestars.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
But you still didn't hesitate.

[identity profile] brigadiertardis.livejournal.com 2010-07-10 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
That is correct.

[your sword doesn't frighten her] You had no right.
