Star 30

[There are two words to describe how Isaac looks at the moment: Cold and Miserable. Despite that, he seems to be in a relatively good mood as he fiddles with the kettle in the kitchen in the hopes of making himself some warm tea.

His gloves are off while he works, but he's yet to unbundle the extra scarves from around his neck, nor shed the parka that covers the rest of his body. possibly because he's still shivering under it all. His hair is all tangled and knotted, and still defrosting. There's a touch of frostbite on his cheeks.]

Y-you'd think Mars lighthouse would be s-somewhere less cold. How do p-people live up there?

[She sees ur cold and miserable, and those are not good things.]

Anybody who lives somewhere that cold has got to be a little crazy. You all right there?

With a great deal of determination, probably. You should take a warm bath.

[identity profile] fruitbrandy.livejournal.com 2010-06-15 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you need to get as warm as possible to help you last through it.

All right then.

Fire-- y'mean magic or something? [Because that makes sense. If you can use fire magic then obviously the cold doesn't bother you as much...but they're still pretty clearly crazy for living in the cold anyway.]

There are lots of people from all sorts of different times, so you should find one of them with something warm you can carry around. And then you'll be warm wherever you go. There isn't much like that in my time, so I can't be of much help.

I do try to have them on occasion.

...They're still crazy for living in the cold like that when they could live someplace else.

A lighthouse? There's a lighthouse in the middle of-- is there a sea or something nearby?

[Because that's where lighthouses are. Near bodies of water. So they can guide ships to safety. THIS IS HOW LIGHTHOUSES WORK, as far as the derp knows.]

[Oh. ... OHHHH. He's in the middle of a 'save the world' kinda situation.

Suddenly things make some sense. Not much, but still.]
I don't quite get all of that, but - you're trying to save the world, huh? ... Good luck with that.

[And she means it. The world flat-out ending would probably suck.]

Only sometimes. If one has them all the time, one becomes obliged to follow through on some of them.

So you see, I must be sparing with my good ideas. You're fortunate enough to get one.
