[When Haseo shows up this time, she is...oh-oh. Well, isn't this unusual?
Instead of training or the like, she is sitting at a wooden desk, poring over several papers. Anybody who gets close enough to look at them... Well, she'll try to hide them, but if you get to see the papers? They're police documents. The papers slightly yellowed and creased from age; evidently, they've been around for...one decade, two maybe? They're archives from the looks of it.
After carefully poring them over for a good while, she puts the papers down and...rubs her eyes a bit. Squints at the papers, head tilted in a curious/annoyed way, then rubs her eyes again. ... A moment later, she rests her face against one of her hands.]

What's the matter?

Well, if I'm right, then there was a hell of a coverup eighteen years ago, and some cops I know aren't going to like that news. ["And I think I'm starting to get eye problems," but that goes unsaid. For now.]

And it's relevant to you now? That's quite the cover-up, if it took this long to come back... That can't be good though, either way. Is anyone in danger?
no subject
Yeah, things...happened, to make it relevant.
No, nobody's in danger, but some folks are going to be annoyed. [Pi, Kuhn, and Yata will prooobably not like hearing that their bosses were helping Ovan, after all. :Ta]

[then] Police documents?

What are you going to do?

[The writing is actually not difficult for someone of average eyesight (or someone who's already got corrective lenses) to read, should Satoshi bother to look at the papers, by the way.]
no subject
[He glances over the papers more carefully now.] I could help you with them.

[She pauses for a moment, thinking about it, and then:] I think I've already seen - or not seen - what needs to be seen, but a second set of eyes never hurts when looking at these things.
[Especially when said second set isn't currently being heredity's chew toy.]

[...And there isn't any to be found, for that matter. Ovan's a manipulative bastard like that.]

[If Haseo doesn't decide to tell him, he'll meet it with his usual disinterest, but Satoshi does have a compulsively curious streak. It's usually one he shuts down on, but what's the harm?]

The owner of Megin Fi, Ovan, is responsible for a lot of bad things happening in my world. Yeah, he was infected with a kind of sentient crazy-inducing disease, but he's still responsible for the crap he pulled. Regarding Megin Fi itself...shortly after Ovan got that disease I mentioned, he, his wife Shino, and his kid sister Aina disappeared off the map.
You'd think the police might investigate it; Aina's sick and needs to go to the hospital a lot, after all. Looks like Ovan pulled a few strings to keep that from happening, though. [She's annoyed now - at Ovan, of course. It's a familiar annoyance; she's gotten annoyed/angry at Ovan's manipulations many times in the past. This is nothing new.]
