I said goodbye, so that's what's important, right? Ah, but I guess no one here really cares about that anymore.

{Anastasia!Diva appears on the Plane, looking thoughtful, but she quickly changes to address the Plane as a whole.}

Ne, but what kinds of jobs can you get in France? I guess ones that don't actually need experience, since I don't really have any... Well, other than music, but I probably shouldn't do that if I want to stay hidden.

{after a beat,} ...And I guess ones that are a little bit under the law, too! Or just the kinds where the government isn't going to be bothering me. It would be really unfortunate if I got caught again, you know? I just want something to do so that I'm not completely bored. I don't really want to just stay at home all day with nothing to do. That would be so boring!

But at least I get to go to France again. I think the Champagne-Ardenne region will be the nicest to live in, but I guess I could settle for Normandy, too...

[Did someone mention Champagne? Aloysius and his boy are happy to help Diva]

You would become a wine seller.

I don't know. I've never tried to be one. I'd buy wine from you if you did.

Can't I buy it form you here? I'd have to ask Wilcox to give me money. I never see much of it, I suppose because the lawyers embezzle quite a lot, and mummy likes to sent me gifts of things, but I'm sure if I told her it was to help a friend she'd let me. You can give Charles and I suggestions!

Oh, I thought you'd be working independently. [Sebastian Flyte: probably more ignorant about economics than even Diva is]

[identity profile] fruitbrandy.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Whyever not? I've always thought that if I ever got into trouble, I'd go abroad to somewhere warm and sunny and live the rest of my life exiled but safe from British law. That's what people do, isn't it? It would be very relaxing.

[Sebastian considers this, pulling Aloysius into something of a loose hug] I wouldn't know. I've never ever killed anyone. Papa must've done, in the war, but he never talks anything of it. Sometimes I wonder if Antoine has. I'd believe it of him. I suppose if I did, I'd go to a country that hates England so much they'd refuse to give me back, just to irritate the English. I could even become a hero there.

[something finally hits Sebastian] I've been terribly rude, haven't I? I'm Sebastian. How do you do? It's the oddest thing, but I feel like we've already met.

[identity profile] fruitbrandy.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's in the way you hold yourself and how you talk. I'm so sorry if I've forgotten.

[identity profile] fruitbrandy.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a very good trick. Aloysius can only disguise himself with a fake moustache.

I sometimes wear false whiskers. Antoine can always find me anyway. You've excellent taste in wine, so I shall have to buy from you often. It's summer now. We can do as we like.

I'm not sure I'd be much help with menial jobs, but I did once work in a book shoppe. Maybe you could do something similar with dresses?

[identity profile] shatteredqueen.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps a consultant, then? Or even a fashion critic? That way you aren't tempted by being in retail.

You can't even write for the papers? How dreadful, my dear. [takes her hands] Why don't you give us a concert here, then? I'm so very fond of your singing.
