[enter one of the Rose Tylers. This one is caked in mud and rain and looking rather miserable. She's also sporting one of these dimension hopper things from Series 2 (she hasn't upgraded to the Series 4 one quite yet)]

Ugh.

[she makes a face looking down at herself and then looks up and around, rolling her shoulders and trying to loosen up]

Right, there's everything else in this place. There's gotta be a shower or something around here somewhere too, yeah? Could probably go have a look around that spa place they had us all in before.

[she stretches out and then lets out a sigh]

Or I can just have a lie down first.

[and so Rose does just that, lying down on the Plane, and letting out a sigh as she stares straight up at the stars above her. She is sore and tired and a shower would be heaven, but that involves actually moving, which she will do very soon...probably.]

[and have a Doctor. He's fairly tired himself, coated in a bit of dust. He heads towards her and eventually drops to the "ground"]

Long day?

[gives him a small smile]

Nah, more of a lazy day. Just sat around, watched some telly, debating going around to the shops.

Ooooh, the same. Read a book, did a crossword, contemplated cleaning up the TARDIS kitchen---no, no, even that's too far-fetched for me.

From the looks of you, the TARDIS kitchen could do with a bit of dusting.

Yeah, but that's never going to happen.

[nods to her] Shops have a sale on mud today?

Are you alright?

[Er, hi. Captain is just like... dead mud person? IS SHE INJURED?]

Had a coupon, can't pass up a coupon.

[stretches her arms a bit]

Might be sorta a weird question, but you ever run into me in your world after the whole Cybermen and Daleks thing? Something to do with stars going out or planets moving or anything like that?

You mean besides the mud and soreness and the case of whiplash I seem to have come down with?

[she manages a smile, but she's not getting up]

I'll be all right, yeah. Just having a lie down.

But we met before, yeah? When you first got here?

I don't think I caught your name, though.

[She crouches down next to Rose, all... worriedfacing.] I'm Captain James Kirk.

[sort of stares at her for a moment, gaping, before he realises he's doing so and instead runs over to her] Whoa, Rose! What happened to you?

[offers another smile to try to reassure that worriedface] Rose Tyler. Would shake your hand or something, but [waves her hands] you probably wouldn't want that.

So what are you a captain of?

I've never had a problem with mud. [But they night as well avoid it, sure!]

The USS Enterprise.

A quarry and some really crossed wires, I'm betting.

[a tired smile]

We got these uh, teleportation things, and I was meant to land back up in the Torchwood base and ended up in a quarry somewhere right in the middle of a downpour.

[smiles again, more genuine]

Somethings never change I guess. But it's really all right, nothing a good washing won't cure.

[laughs] Guess that makes two of us.

What's that? Like a naval ship or a space ship or what?

[stares, clearly alarmed--maybe even frightened? he may have just gone a little pale. it seems you touched a nerve] Tell me you aren't buried in it!

A spaceship in Starfleet. So far, no one here's known what that is.

[concerned, she shakes her head no, and sits up] No, nothing like that. You all right?

Guessing it's like a big deal or something when you're from then, yeah? Is it like space age military or something?

Yeah. [swallows hard, sitting down next to her] Yeah, I'm fine. [breathes a sigh of relief, trying to calm down] That's good. [forces a smile] Just...I got buried once. Wouldn't recommend it.

It's an exploratory organization.

[With. Military. BUT EXPLORING TOO.]

[not even thinking about the mud, she puts a hand on his shoulder and gives it a reassuring rub]

Sorry. I didn't know. You mind me asking what happened?

Oh yeah? You lot then, are you human or like a species that looks human or what?

[ This Time Lady can be seen pausing when she sees Rose, carrying a small box under her arm. With a curious look she crouches down beside her while offering a hanker-chief that she had tucked away in her pocket. ]

It isn't much but that certainly must be uncomfortable.

I'm from Iowa, but Starfleet isn't comprised of any one species.

[that's okay; he's not thinking about the mud either] No, no, it's fine. [smiles reassuringly, embarrassed] Didn't mean to overreact like that. [scratches his head] It's been a few years now. Old news. Just one of those things that happens while you're with the Doctor, you know? Run a lot, get shot at by lots of weapons, see amazing sights, get caught in an exploding building.

But what's this about teleporting around? I thought you were living in your parallel universe now?
