[Sup. Pi is busily investigating one of the stars. Looking it all over. Poking it carefully. Mumbling to herself. One can pretty much expect she has to do some sort of report on this new development.]

The stellar phenomena here have been quite interesting, but this certainly takes the cake. I suppose in a place like this, stars wouldn't be extemely large, nor would they emit all manner of radiation...

It's quite the sight, though.

S' a damn weird sight, too.

[This is... a very odd sight. She smiles just a little in amusement.]

I didn't realize it was that cold...

....What about your world?

We don't get snow. It just rains a lot. It's actually typhoon season.

[Kuhn sees Pi, and of course he just has to go bother her-- Shiny!]

Hey, what's that thing?

Hm. [She kneels down slightly, reaching out to one of the stars--

and it turns into gold dust. Well that's interesting.] One only, huh... [Oh well. One was enough.]

[Luckily she's used to Kuhns poking their noses into her business, although this one is somewhat more tolerable than her version.]

By all counts, it's a star. A star that is... the size of a baseball and not emitting deadly amounts of heat and radiation. Of course, it could just have the appearance of a star based on our own perceptions. Sometimes alternate dimensions play tricks on you.

[Puts up one hand next to her right ear for a moment.]

Recording protocol engage. Initialization Saeki.

... what did you do?

I...touched...the star-thingy.

[Blink blink. o.o]

Why did it disintegrate?

Oh. ...Hmm, if I had to make a guess, it's probably because I wished on another one. One wish only - fair enough. [Shrug.]

... you wished on it?

[This is the face of a woman who does not believe what she is hearing.]

... [Well that's enough to snap anyone out of a good mood. Cue annoyed face.]

...Yeah. So what?

A star? Really?

[He looks around for another one. Luckily, he finds one! So he picks it up before returning to Pi's side. He looks the thing over.]

This place just keeps throwing scientific impossibilities at us, doesn't it?

How is that possible?

It certainly does. I wonder if there's some sort of cosmic entity here that enjoys giving me work. As soon as I mention that there are objects that look like stars, Ta--Yata requests more information.

[Stares at him as he holds the star like his head's on fire or something.]

... it's cool enough to hold?

It just is. Don't ask me how this place works.

[Not mentioning how the stars almost make you want to wish on them because this is embarrassing enough as it is.]

That sounds like him. [Did that sound bitter, or was it just amusement? The world may never know, and Kuhn would prefer it that way.

Though he does blink at the look she's giving him.]

Well, yeah. You don't see me dropping it, do you?

[Looks vaguely annoyed for a moment before dismissing the incident entirely.]

That may be true, but it's still something that needed to be documented. It's a phenomenon unique to this place, as far as our experiences have given us.

[TIME FOR SCIENCE. She pushes up the glasses.]

What does it feel like? Is it heavy?

That it is.

...Have you picked up any of the stars, yourself?

{Booster has armfuls of them. Just because they're cool, and he's a loser like that}

You could just say "these are cool."

When analyzing them for a report, "cool" is hardly appropriate terminology.
