[Haseo's in a noticeably bad mood when she appears on the Plane. Well, this isn't too surprising; she's still reeling from a certain fight with d3!Pi some time ago. Losing control and going batshit on an alternate version of a friend-ally-person is bad on many levels - it's one more screw-up, and hadn't she decided she'd never do something like that again?

...However, there's also the nightmares to deal with. She'd been having some bad ones before accessing this place (thanks, screwed-up family,) and they've gotten worse since first accessing the Plane. That fight did not help, and not sleeping seemed like a good way to avoid the nightmares...

Result: one cranky, slightly out-of-it white-haired person on the Plane, sitting down next to her scythe, which she is not letting out of her sight. Yes, she's still lugging that thing around.]

I keep finding people who look stranger and stranger. Are you an albino? But I hear they burn more easily than they tan. I suppose the scythe is for farming.

You, uh... you don't look so great. Something bothering you?

[Oh, the last person she wanted to see. No, wait, you're not her world's Kuhn. Still, Kuhn is Kuhn and Kuhn would get on her case for...

Cue looking away a bit.] ... I screwed up. [A pause. You wouldn't attack, would you? In a halting, uncertain tone, she continues talking.] ...And - the nightmares - got worse.

Nightmares? ... You mean, from the Plane? And screwed up, huh? How's that?

[He moves to sit near her, hoping she'll understand it as a sign that he's there to listen if she needs it.]

...Nn. ...I had nightmares before, they just got worse, more frequent, once I started coming here. And now, they - [Waves her hand slightly, as if indicating something, maybe the screw-up.] So I decided to avoid them for a while.

...The Pi, here - I got into a fight with her, lost my head - called on Skeith recklessly. [She tries for a bitter smile, but it...doesn't quite work out.] We both got off the Plane before anything...happened, like in the Arena. But still. [A pause.] Did that even happen in your world, I wonder? At the Arena?

I'd be surprised, but it seems to be in the nature of Haseos to survive anything.

[He nods. He personally never remembered his dreams before he started coming here, and ever since he's been having some pretty terrible nightmares, but that doesn't seem quite like what's going on with Haseo...

And at the mention of the incident with Pi, and the comparison to the Arena battle... his expression turns grim. He nods slowly.]

Yeah. It definitely happened. ... How--... You got into a fight with the Pi here? Really? ... Why?

[At that, she sort of pulls the scythe a bit closer.] ... She... You know what, I don't - really remember, but at one point I thought she was going to damage it.

Damage...? [He looks down when she pulls at the Scythe.] Ah. [He nods.]

But... Pi wouldn't do something like that. Not even if she's from another... version of... whatever. Am I right? [He hopes he's right, anyway.]

[Cue wary, closed off look. She stands up, picks up the scythe, and takes a few steps away.]

...Stay away.

[Not really moving towards her or anything, but continues to not do so.]

If it makes you feel better, you put me in the hospital for a week.

[She shakes her head slightly and backs away a bit further.]

Still... you lost it? After unleashing your avatar? [He looks a little angry about that for a second - he warned his Haseo about that, and dammit, the Kuhn in girl!Haseo's world should have done the same! - but he lets it go and focuses on... whatever positive he can find instead.]

At least you're both okay. You could have been more than just seriously damaged! And who knows what would have happened with the whole differences-in-worlds-or-whatever thing!

Seems like the two of you have that much in common at least. As it stands, it's nothing new. So I wouldn't worry - not that I expect you to.

[Watches you scurry away, frowns a little bit. Her Haseo is going to have a fit hearing about this.]

...Yeah. I know. [Hangs head slightly.] Why do you think the nightmares got worse? I know what I did was wrong, especially after-- [Pause.] - you know.

...[Upset, guilty look again.] I know.

[Wow. Kuhn can't recall a time that he's seen that look on his Haseo's face. Even if the emotion's there, it's usually just masked by anger. ... or the back of his head.

He reaches over and puts a hand on Haseo's shoulder.] Hey. Like I said, you're both okay. Maybe we don't know what's up with the world the Pi here comes from, but it's all good.

[...And all of a sudden, there's a slight bark of laughter. It sounds half-crazy, and entirely not amused. It's more like a reflex than anything. And now she's upset. Whoops, Pi.]

...How dare you assume things like that! What the hell kind of monster do you think I am, anyway?!

[What do you think was foremost in her nightmares for the last few weeks? No, it wasn't the Rebirth. No, it wasn't her family, accusing her, calling her a murderer, turning away because of the crimes she's committed. No, it wasn't the blood on her hands.

It was that fight.]

She sort of looks at the hand on her shoulder blankly - and then shakes her head a bit.] ...You think so? I'm not so sure. It doesn't - really seem like it goes away.

... Do you know, once you get on the Plane, you have nightmares? Or they get worse, anyway, that's what I heard.

... [Deep breath. She's not sure she can trust you anymore, but she may as well get this off her chest - if only to make her side of things clear. In a very low tone:] ... That was in my nightmares. You aren't my world's Pi - you only look like her. She wouldn't have picked a fight with me, and I wouldn't have picked a fight with her. And she would've just lectured me about using my power responsibly instead of flying off the handle.

But I was worried anyway. I thought maybe you had died.

...So don't make assumptions like I don't care. If I'm a "monster," then I sure as hell don't enjoy it.

[Regards you carefully, pushing up her glasses.] I've always had nightmares. Every single night since I started doing my job. Whether they're getting worse or not, I can't tell. The longer we do this, the less human we become. It's the price we pay in this line of work. My subconscious reminds me of this all the time.

You wear the face of someone I trust to assist me, but also to put me down if I lose control. I don't hold your actions against you in any regard. It's what I would have expected.

And unfortunately, your alternate in my reality would never listen to a lecture.
