{Diva appears on the Plane partially strapped to a chair since the "lovely" Arkham doctors were trying to give her a blood transfusion so that she didn't almost die again. Since she's only been strapped in halfway, she uses her free arm to free herself before unceremoniously ripping the IV tube out of her arm.}

Ne, that's no good at all! It really takes too long for all the trouble.

{She hums cheerfully as she takes the blood bag and starts to simply sip from the end of it. Diva leans leisurely in the chair with her legs across the sides now that she's free, pulling her tarot card out of her uniform, which is basically the only place she can hide it. Her lips purse once she reads it again, and she reads it aloud}

"Do you sing anymore, my dear? Or are you no longer some graceful bird in her own little world, and instead the falcon, hunting and killing for your own preservation? I'm simply curious, that's all."

That's really rude, I think. If this 'J' is a person from here, I should talk to the Twins about it, shouldn't I? They're underhanded, but at least they're polite. It's a pretty thing, at least. It sounds like something in a pretty poem. I certainly feel like a falcon more than a nightingale, but no one really likes the falcon except to look at how pretty and powerful it is, do they? But at least no one bothers the falcon about what it eats.

{Diva crosses her legs, giggling}

If only it weren't so bad! It's bad to say, but I'd love to play that game again. Hide and seek is my favorite. ♥

Hmmm? [confused, but then shakes his head.] Oh no, I meant this place and these cards. I really don't think the cards are a good thing.

[relaxes slightly when he has something else to think about besides how he just found Diva]

Probably not. It's probably just something for one of those experiments. Hopefully it won't be anything bad, but as many people that seem to have gotten them...It shouldn't be that dangerous, at least.

Sometimes. But...It's usually only one or two people in that case.

{She frowns deeply} I wish those didn't happen, of course, but...There's not a lot can be done.

But there must be a way to help someone if they get effected in a dangerous way. Kyouya and I spoke to Lapis and Lazuli. They told us that offering support and friendship might be enough to help.

It probably isn't. Their experiments end when they want them to. That's...the only thing I don't like about the Plane. People do things that they don't mean to, or even want to do. I hate them for that, but at the same time, I can't hate the people that brought me...Sam. And so many others.

If that's not enough, how does someone protect the people they love?

...You...can't. Even if you think that you're doing a pretty good job, they can just...leave. Without saying anything, and it's not their fault, but there's not even a "goodbye" or---

{She bites her lip} Ne, but that's too personal! You just...really have to do the best you can and not think about it. It's too painful otherwise, you know!

Ah, but since we're talking about it...Even if it's personal, maybe it would be better? I don't know. But, would you like to hear what happened?

[pauses...and even though he knows he's not meant to be around this person, he does feel sorry for her and can't walk away or say no]

You came at a bad time. There was a person that I met here more than...a year ago. He left...not long before you and your friends got here, and I loved him so much. Sam made me so happy, and without him...I didn't--don't know what to do. So I did bad things, like I had my whole life, with Amshel, but now it hurts. It's never hurt before, actually!

{She curls some strands of hair around her fingertips}

But I don't want you to be afraid of me. I can't help it, but I know when someone is scared of me. I know that look, but I really hate it. So...while knowing that probably won't change your opinion, I don't want to see that face anymore if that's all I'd see.

It was really fun singing with you, though. I want to again, if...you would let me.

[part of him wishes he had run away before she'd seen him. He wishes Kyouya was there right then to drag him away, even though he's sure Kyouya will be angry at him, probably very rightly so, too.]

[despite this though, he can't help feeling sorry for her. Everything she said scares him even more in a way, but he feels that she is just lonely and heartbroken too, which doesn't excuse what she did, but still makes him feel very sorry for her.]

[and thus, conflict, dammit. And he doesn't even know how to respond, because that fear of saying the wrong thing and putting any of them in danger has grown now, based on what she just said. Her actions are so fueled by her emotions, what if the wrong words do set her off? He's not used to this game of not saying what he's thinking or biting his tongue and it's difficult, to say the very least]

[finally he settles for a small truth]

I don't understand any of these things. I don't know what to do. I'm sorry, that's very unfair I'm sure.

[if he knew the right thing to do, this would probably be much more painless for everyone, Diva included.]

Oh, I'm not offended. It's pretty hard to do that. Oh, but if you want to hear more stories sometime, I have lots of them. I mean, stories about what it was like to live in the Russian palace, things like that.
