(no subject)

[Argentine is wandering through Crane's library. He seems a bit aimless in his search; he supposes a book might somehow interest him if he walks through the aisles. There's too many books to just go through them all. At least, right now.

Occasionally, he takes a book off the shelf and flips through it. But whatever it is he wants, he can't seem to find it, because the book is always put back.]

You all right there? You're looking like you need help finding something.

[identity profile] shewalks-away.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
You're in the right place then, yeah?

What sorta story you looking for. Not an expert on libraries, never got that whole Dewey Decimal system stuff, but maybe two of us can find it quicker than one?

So you're looking for something you never read before?

[looks at the books on the shelves]

Looks like we're in the science section now. Not gonna find much stories like you're looking for in this part. Come on then, let's go find out where the fiction is, sounds like that's where you wanna be.

[ready for exploring but waits to make sure Argentine is following]

I'm Rose by the way, don't think I got your name.

[identity profile] shewalks-away.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[laughs]

Yeah, that's right. What's the different sorta meanings? Don't know much about them except that they're a flower and your bloke gets them for you when he's gone and done something to tick you off.

[identity profile] shewalks-away.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
You really do know a whole load of stuff about roses, don't you? And see there, you know more stories than you thought. All that stuff you just said, it's sorta like a story, the way they're used and what they mean and stuff.

Aphrodite and Venus though, aren't they like the same except different languages or countries or something? Like one's Greek and one's Roman, but it's just different ways of saying it?

History is like stories though. You got the people fighting great odds or falling in love or sending secret messages with flowers or all that stuff. It's just like what you see in fairy tales like except the people are all real.

[displaying his superpower of appearing out of nowhere despite having been there forever]

Argentine.

[identity profile] shewalks-away.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno.

[thinks]

Maybe Beauty and the Beast? It's all sorta romantic and a bit scary and all that, isn't it?

[pauses again]

Or, ummm, it's probably all a bit daft, but I always liked the stories my mum used to tell me about my dad when I was little. Those were always my favourite kind growing up.

[personal profile] ex_fatalist246 2009-09-06 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
What are you looking for?

[personal profile] ex_fatalist246 2009-09-06 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
You're in the wrong section.

[identity profile] shewalks-away.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Which ones, Beauty and the Beast or the other ones?

[personal profile] ex_fatalist246 2009-09-06 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
I think so. [he scans the titles on the shelves]

It's probably on the second floor.

[starts up the stairs]

[ Walking on by with a step stool in her hands, she stops in front of a book case not too far down. After setting it down in front she climbs up the steps and starts looking over the titles that were too high up for her before. ]
