26 Wake upand make it count

[Contrary to popular opinion, and despite his best wishes, Jack does indeed sleep. Not that he's doing so as the moment, but he has woken up quite recently. This leaves him half groggy, running a hand through his bed hair as he yawns.

Since he usually passes out for these things, he's at least properly dressed, white shirt and something akin to dress pants, but not quite. He's shoes are nowhere to be seen, though]

Diva walks up behind him and wraps her arms around his torso, nuzzling into his back}

[If Jack wasn't used to people appearing like that, he might have jumped. Instead, he simply turns back to look at Sorin] I was already awake.

[There is only the slightest moment of tensing before Jack relaxes against Diva, taking her hands in his] Yeah, it's been a while.

{There's a pause at that, and she delicately grips his hands back}

Ne, but a lot has happened since the last time I saw you. How have you been?

[Jack shifts in Divas hold, keeping her hand in his as he turns to hold her properly, arms wrapping around his waist]

As good as ever. Saving the world, being chained to someone named Harley Quinn, avoiding paperwork. And you, Diva?

{Normally, she would comment on those other things first, but instead, she just speaks softly}

Sam is gone.

[Jack's whole demeanor changes. He holds Diva to him, kissing the top of her head as he closes his eyes and sighs softly. He doesn't say anything, there really is nothing to say, and just holds her]

He'll come back to me someday, though, I think. Ikki came back, after all.

[He strokes her hair, smiling softly]

Why wouldn't he come back, when he has someone like you waiting for him?

[For a moment, Jack simply blinks at him. He hasn't been called endedring in a while. But then he simply laughs and smiles at thre Doctor] Glad to know my bed hair is approved of.

[a bit more playfully] Is it endearing enough to earn a kiss?
