[Emil's back on the Plane, but he seems to be acting a little... different. More different than his time of the month, too. With him is the little grayish-purple striped Wolf, which he doesn't notice until he turns around--]

Aaaahhh! [He tries to run away but falls on his butt.] Don't hurt me! Don't...

[Wolf just sits there and pants at him.]

Um... go away!

[Wolf whines, but trots off to explore the Plane as ordered. Emil sighs and gets back up, brushes off his knees.]

... Where am I? Some kind of... trap? But there's... buildings. It's like a whole city down here.

[ooc: This is not an experiment! This is what happens when you have DID and retrograde amnesia in the same body. Care to try and put the pieces together for him? He'll be fine after this post, really.]

[The Doctor pauses and blinks, his walk cut short by seeing this flailing display.]

Emil? Did you get yourself lost?

[Emil reacts by looking around, then pointing at himself.]

Emil? That's not my name. I think you have me confused for someone else.

[A pause.]

Are you quite certain? You look like him and, well, even with alternates...all right, then, who are you?

[He goes to answer, then stops.]

... I'm... well, of course I have a name! I just can't...

Uh oh.

...Well! That's not usually a good sign. What can you remember?

[He scratches the back of his head.]

I remember I was looking for something. It was really, really important! But I can't remember what it was...

[He seems genuinely worried about this.]

[The Doctor frowns. He, too, is genuinely worried.]

Ah. That's...vague at best. Do you remember much of this place?

[He shakes his head.]

Are you sure I've been here before? ... I know I have a name, but Emil-- doesn't feel like it's the right one.

Really? But...well, I can't be certain, no, but neither can you right now. Though, I will say that I think you are the Emil I know. [Just sounds curious now.] Why doesn't 'Emil' sound right? I think it's a lovely name.

That's so strange... I'm sorry I can't help you more. It's not that Emil is a bad name, I just don't think it's mine.

[He looks up.]

It's pretty here. Where is here, anyway?

[He smiles.] Well, it's all I know to call you by, so you'll have to put up with it until you remember.

[Then he follows his gaze.] This place is called the Astral Plane. A meeting ground between worlds. Beautiful, isn't it?

[He smiles a bit.] Fair enough.

[Then his eyes widen.] Between worlds? That's... that's incredible! I never thought there would be a world nestled between both of them!

[Now he grins.] Yep! Between more than worlds, actually. Entire universes are connected here, ones different than your own or my own.

Then you're not from my world...

[Now he's studying Ten with a hand on his chin.]

You don't look much different.

Hm? Oh! Right, the whole 'you look like my species' bit? Well, that's purely cosmetic. [He gives his hair a tug.] Very nice cosmetics, if I do say so, but the real differences are in the code. Genetic code. And a few extra organs, different systems, you know.

A few? [That gets a laugh out of him.] I see. What about... magic? Though I guess it wouldn't be called magic if it wasn't foreign to you.

Ah, well, magic is just science with a different explanation. Or at least, there's a saying from my universe. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

I see... What about technology that's powered by magic?

[He stops, blinks.]

... I don't know where that came from.

[He pauses, but then he nods.] Sometimes things do come back gradually. Not always as simple as a bump on the head to bring it all back. But! I'm quite certain there is no such thing. Well, at least not in my world.

I don't think any amount of bumping my head will help me, here. [He smiles a little.] What's your name? I'd hate to lose you and then have no idea who I've been talking to...

[Shun remembers talking to this guy before, so he's aware that Emil should know what this place is. So naturally, he is a little confused and concerned about his behavior. Yet he isn't sure what he should do about it since he really doesn't know him that well.]

[The Doctor smiles back.] The Doctor. Pleasure to meet you. I'll warn you, there's actually a few of me around. Alternate universes, you know. But it usually doesn't get all that confusing. Surprising, isn't it?

Nice to meet you, too! ... It doesn't, hmm? I wonder how you manage that. Personally, I don't know what I'd do if I had someone who looked like me...

... Though, I guess now it doesn't matter, since it's already happened.

Can I ask what you're a doctor of?

[Emil doesn't seem to recognize him.]

It's not? Then... why am I here?

[He looks amused.] Good way of looking at it.

And, well, I consider myself a doctor of everything. I'm a traveller, you see. You could say I just pick up knowledge as I go along.
