and when the answer that you want [is in the question that you state]
[The Master is chilling on a chair in the middle of the Plane, smiling happily, which is bad news]
I have noticed that there is a tragic lack of morale among the more heroic members of the Plane's scattered population. It's hard, isn't it? Can't imprison anyone, can hardly stop anyone, and the cheap-and-easy "Kill 'em all!" solution just doesn't work when they come back! It's a lot easier for the criminals here, and that simply isn't fair. That's why I'm offering you the chance to do some good.
Despite the valiant, yet tragically futile efforts of my antithetical travelling companion, I have caught ten [holds up his hands with his fingers out as if to explain for the less mathematically inclined] innocent, helpless Argolins. For the stunted apes and universal aliens who don't know what an Argolin is, we'll say that they're a roughly humanoid species. Nice hair, odd life-cycles, yellow-green skin.
Ten lives, which I will spare if any heroes can successfully answer one [he holds up one finger, this time] riddle. If you get it wrong, they die. Anyone Gallifreyan is automatically disqualified from the competition, which, actually, means that the Walking Hand is allowed to play.
I think I need to go arch-enemy shopping.
