[Meredith appears in a little-used area of the Plane with what appears to be living Plane metal in her hands]

Someone suggested that this is a social experiment, so...

[Kneeling, Meredith lets the metal down onto the floor. Some of it slithers away from her and other pieces vanish, but quickly enough, her hands are empty]

...we will fulfill expectations.

[Then, she is gone]

((ooc: Plot start! The plot post is here and the pairings are here! For reference, Plane Metal is cool to the touch and almost liquid feeling, like brushing your finger over the top of water. It is a deep gray which appears to be speckled in the light but in other lights the metal seems ghostly and translucent. Feel free to start up your posts, get your partners together and go for it!))

{:| IT FEELS GROSS. So anyways, let's talk, Orel, because Diva is NOT PLEASED}

[Orel looks at the cuff for a minute, before looking at Diva and smiling in a sort of awkward, 'I don't quite know who you are or why we are chained together' way. Which isn't to say it's a bad one, he just looks like an awkward little boy as I ramble ramble ramble.]

Hi.

Ah...

{Diva kneels, first, yanking on the chain. If it were a normal chain, it would have broken. So, instead she looks up at Orel with a small frown}

Who are you?

{Hey Inara, I bet you really wanted to get attached to a sociopathic bitch}

What is this?!

I'm Orel Puppington. [He then smiles, doing his best to seem friendly.] I guess you don't know why we're chained either, huh?

Of course not! Ne, this must be something terrible that the Twins have done! Oh, this just won't do at all...!

{She pouts, murmuring discontentedly to herself before sighing}

That's not fair, though...

Don't worry, Miss. I'm sure there's a way to fix it. I mean... if those Twins put it on, maybe they could take it off! It wouldn't hurt to ask.

[Have some optimism, Diva. Orel has plenty.]

{She pouts her lips for a moment, but then smiles a little}

Well...these don't last long, at least, usually. Ne, but...

{Diva starts walking, hopefully Orel will get dragged along} Are we really attached to each other? That's no good.

[He follows along so he doesn't get dragged!] Looks like it!

{She sighs, then turns back to Orel, putting her hands on her hips}

Well then, I suppose I have to be very forward. My name is Diva, and I'm...Well, I'm a vampire, to put it simply.

Aren't vampires supposed to be scary, though? You don't seem scary at all.

{She's surprised for a moment, but then smiles}

Well...I should say I'm like a vampire, then. I drink blood to live, but that's about it.

[not particularly, no]

I was wondering the same. [gives her new friend a look] This is quite annoying.

It's more than annoying. It's unacceptable.

[FLAIL!]

So, do you like... flavour it? Or put anything in it? Blood doesn't sound like it'd taste good without something mixed in it.

What...? No, of course not! I like the taste.

Oh. [I am so sorry, Chii, but Orel is... just curious about everything.] Does it taste different if it's from different people? Or animals? Or does it all taste the same... I mean, it seems like it'd taste different based on people, since people eat and drink different things and are all different... [He seems to be considering this deeply. :| Orel is weird.]

Well...It does taste different. Every person is different. I've never tasted animal blood before, though.

I'd have to agree. This will be ... interesting when it comes time to do my job.

But I'm being rude. I don't believe we've been acquainted, and it seems we're rather stuck together at the moment. I'm Inara.

{Dante doesn't answer right away, her mind scheming away. But after a moment of thought, she nods absently}

Dante. I can't say it's a pleasure, but only because of the situation.

[that's okay, Inara's thinking this through as quickly as she can, as well, though probably not as ~*~evilly~*~]

It is quite the unfortunate situation, isn't it. [sighs lightly, tugging at her leg] How undignified.

I'll have to get rid of it, but I have a feeling that it won't be easy. What is your job, then? If we're to be stuck together until I understand the material, I hope it's not of too much inconvenience.

Get rid of it? I'm curious to hear how you'll manage that.

And I'm a Companion by trade. And this is ... well, it certainly does make my work a little more difficult. It's a very personal sort of business my clients expect from me.

I am an alchemist. Deconstructing and reconstructing matter is my trade. Until then, I suppose your clients will have to deal with it, because there's no alternative that I see.

{sup River there is something very annoying and kind of cute attached to your ankle. Its trying to balance its cane on its nose, though}

Alchemy? I can't say I'm familiar with the practice, though I've read of it. [smiles politely, if insincerely] I'm afraid that's just not possible. My clients' needs are quite important to me and if I can't perform properly, I won't insult them. This would be insulting, I'm afraid.

{Dante nearly responds sharply, but manages not to}

Then I'd advise you consider an alternative to get rid of the chain or cancel your clients' appointments.

You'll have to forgive me, but this is my livelihood we're discussing. I can't just not see my clients, especially considering some of them wait a long time to meet with me.

Then unless you can take it off, it seems that we'll have to accompany each other.

[she really has nothing to say to this and so sighs]

So it would seem. Well then. I guess we'll just have to solve this little problem as quickly as possible, then.

Indeed. I hope that we can get along, at least. {Because if they can't Dante would have no qualms to killing the other half to get free}

I think we'll be able to manage. [damnit, Dante, no killing Inara]
