[a woman walks onto the Plane; she's wearing battered, torn clothes smeared with green, and there are a few fresh cuts and bruises on her bare skin

wide eyes quickly narrow in annoyance and suspicion; a hand rests on the pistol strapped to her hip as she turns her head, shouting behind her]

Hey! Stephen! You there?

[he doesn't answer, and she shakes her head, turning about and trying to assess her surroundings; apparently limitless, with random bursts of colour and no exit in sight]

Well, the stars are nice. Can't see them for shit in big cities, which is usually where the demons are. [she's nervous; she's gotten used to strange things, but this is utterly out of her experience, and she hates that, always has]

Is this some kind of vision? Magic? Hell dimension?

[Well, Dorothy's here, as she often is, because apparently the Plane needed a Welcome Wagon and nobody else is polite enough. She does rather frown at the mention of Hell dimensions though.]

Why's everybody gotta assume this place is something bad right off the bat? It hasn't been anything but nice to me since I got here. At the very least, it's definitely not a "hell dimension", whatever that is.

[Sam frowns and stops; he is almost certain he's already met this person]

It's the Astral Plane.

[Kate turns to her warily, hand still lingering on her gun as she gives a slight shrug]

Better to assume the worst and get pleasantly surprised than assume the best and get shot in the back. Or ripped apart by giant claws, whichever.

[slight eyebrow rise] Well, a name is good. Better than nothing, anyway.

Does that mean we're on some...spiritual path?

[she eyeballs the gun, but her demeanor doesn't change]

Well, I s'pose if that's the sorta thing that happens to you all the time, though it'd be a rough kinda life to lead. What's all that green stuff all over you?

[wry smile]

Demon blood.

So yeah, it is.

Yeesh.

[Dorothy produces, from her pocket, a wet nap, which she then tosses over to Kate. SEE? She comes prepared.]

I s'pose there's better ways to show up here the first time, huh?

...Hey, I remember you.

[snatches it out of the air; she stares, for a moment, before smiling, shaking her head, and starting to use it]

Thanks. And...probably. I still have things to do.

[her eyes widen, and then narrow] That's weird, 'cause I'm pretty sure I'd remember you.

...Wait, are you actually the "Law & Order" girl this time?

...I was a cop, if that's what you mean. [is still blatantly staring]

Dang. I hate re-runs.

...Pretty sure I'd be offended if I knew what the hell you were talking about.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up my interactions with people here.

So... Kate was it?

...Yeah.

Is there a reason you know my name, and I don't know yours?

Yes. Yes there is.

Great. You gonna share that?

Nah. You probably wouldn't believe me anyway. Plus I didn't really know you all that well.

[a slight scowl - but then she shrugs, because at the moment, she'll take what she can get, and she's not fighting with a strange guy in a strange place]

...Do you always wear a silly costume?

Well, I wouldn't, but the serious costume is at the cleaners..

There is such a thing?

I would think a certain caped crusader likes to think so.

Things to do? Well, you can take a break here for as long as you want. Time doesn't pass while you're on the Plane. Pretty neat, huh?

[...as if that's totally normal.]
