[Gwendolyn is wandering around the kitchen investigating, and opens the refrigerator door.] Oh, this is for storing food. [She closes the door and circles around it. Then she opens it again, searching.] I wonder how it is kept cold. There is not enough snow nor ice to warrant such frigid temperatures... I'm sure father would enjoy a home cooked meal. But there is not much that I know how to cook. Certainly nothing befitting our king.

[She closes the door and sighs.] Griselda would laugh at the thought. I am a warrior, not a homemaker. I should not be thinking such things. There are people on the field to make our food. I need only be concerned with the next battle...

[Despite this, she continues exploring the kitchen.]

Oh. It is a distraction. I know enough to get by if I must, but a grand feast... It is beyond my capabilities.

Dwarves - right, I don't know if those exist where I'm from. If they do, they're darn good at not letting folks know. Magic, though - hm. [Ponders this for a bit.] I guess that's as good an explanation as any.

Apparently it's some kind of place where folks from a bunch of different worlds can meet and talk and so on. You go and come back just by thinking it...Sometimes, there are different versions of the worlds, to boot.

Perhaps you are right. I shall do my best to make a simple dish. [She looks through the fridge, trying to find something she knows. Packaged meats are foreign to her, but she does know a whole chicken when she sees it and pulls it out. She scrutinizes it.] Do you think this would be enough?

I think a whole chicken may be too much for one person to eat, but at the same time, there are many things you can do with one.

It's a coolant system. It takes the heat from inside it and moves it outside, lowering the temperature inside. If it works anything like the refrigerators back home.
