001 - Upon Infinity

[And onto the Astral Plane walks a most extravagantly and well dressed male with skin and hair as white as the cravat he wears proudly. The deep black cape seems to cover all but his half outstretched arm which had only just been pushing open a mysterious door a moment prior. It lingered there for a moment before being outstretched again to his side, and pushing the left side of his cape behind his shoulder.

And upon his face was a most bemused smirk]

And so, where to would the mysterious doorway within my castle lead me but into the starry expanse of infinity. Or perhaps something deceptively resembling that of infinity. No reason to simply assume something based upon first impressions.

Yet this is not a part of my Castlevania.

I will, in this case, assume there is an explanation to be had. [Takes a few steps forward] I am sure it will be a good one, too.

Well, that kind of depends on your definition of "good", really.

It's the Astral Plane! There are no card soldiers here, but there's a castle.

In light of the situation before myself, something informative and, failing that, intriguing.

[A pause, and then a rather dark chuckle]

Then due to this Astral Plane, there is a castle within a castle. How utterly amusing this all is.

Ah, then I can probably do that much.

{She looks around}

This is the Astral Plane. You can come and go by just thinking about it, but time doesn't pass at home while you're here. And there are people from all kinds of worlds and realities that can come here, so there are...lots of kinds of people, I guess it would be. Time travelers, talking animals, vampires, or even just a regular human. The Twins and Meredith are kind of the owners of the Plane, but you won't see them much...

Ne, that's probably about everything that's important.

[...Well, the first thing he does is think about going back, and promptly disappears from sight.

And a few moments later, he returns with a wine glass in hand, filled with a red liquid that may be wine, and may more likely be something else]

No doubt intriguing and moderately explanatory, it shall indeed do for now. I cannot be so selfish as to expect all the answers to a mystery immediately.

[Takes a quiet sip of his drink]

Ne, is that blood?

And what do you know of this Astral Plane, aside from it playing home to a castle?

It's nice here! Pino has lots of friends. And everything stops while Pino is here, so Vince doesn't know I've been gone. And there's looooots of space to store things!

Castlevania is a being in and of itself. A chaotic creature. So to answer your question, it is endlessly changing. Though always to my liking.

Well, it seems like humans are a little foolish, no matter where they're from. But it's not really their fault. I mean, it makes sense that they would be afraid of what can kill them.
