[Hi, Plane! It's been a while! In celebration of Chris finally deciding to come back to the Plane, now freshly off his experiment, he is... on a futon. Face down. With a pillow over his head. The phone on the bedside table that came with him cuts off mid-ring (not the greatest reception here, don't'cha know), and there's something of a relieved noise, but it's hard to tell.

What, with him hiding under the pillow and all.

COME BUG HIM.]

[Naminé sees him, frowns a bit, and makes her way over. She stops a few feet away and tilts her head slightly.]

Um... Chris? Are you alright?

[ghostlighter]

What? [Sits up reluctantly, pulling the pillow off his head and automatically brushing a hand through his hair. He looks younger than she probably remembers.] ... excuse me?

[And now there is a cat balanced on the edge of the bedside table, nosing at the phone.] Ain't you supposed to pick that thing up first before it stops ringing?

[She notices! She kind of blinks a few times, wondering if maybe she's seeing things... then decides maybe she was just too startled last time from arriving here in the first place to really get a good look at him. She tries for a smile.]

You look really tired. I came over to make sure that you're alright.

[He tilts his head back and forth a bit.]

I'm fine. Thanks, though, uh... Naminé.

[ghostlighter]

[What. He pulls the pillow halfway off and gives the cat a bland look.]

Usually. Unless you just don't want to answer it.

Of course. [Smile!] What brings you back to the Plane this time?

[She gives it a final, disinterested sniff before jumping back down so she's sitting more at level with him.] Don't see why you wouldn't want to. Ignorin' it ain't gonna do much to stop that damned noise.

Well, last time I came here, a call of mine got cut off. [Glances to the phone.] I was hoping that would still work.

Trust me, the noise would be even worse if I had.

Oh, I see. [She actually looks amused.] Is there someone you don't want to talk to, then?

Several someones. [And now he's swinging his legs off the futon. Might as well get comfortable here.]

I seen humans do something they call disconnecting with them before now. You could always try that?

Well, you'll have to talk to them eventually when you go back. [She sits on the "floor" nearby.]

Maybe, but it's nice to have a break until then.

Yeahhh... but then I might actually miss an important call.

That's true. [She smiles up at him.] It's nice to come here and not be busy all of the time.

[ghostlighter]

Yeah. [He glances down and notices the smile. He doesn't quite smile back, but he doesn't frown either.] It's good for that.

[She nods.] ... I'm sorry, if you'd rather be alone, I can go. [That smile doesn't drop, nor does it lose an ounce of its sincerity.] Believe me, I understand.

Uh... no, it's okay. I guess. I just wanted the phone to stop ringing.

[Lowers his voice.] You feeling alright?

[ghostlighter]

[Well, since it's Hei, he just phases through the pillow and sits up. He rubs at the bridge of his nose, but nods.] ... Yeah, I'm fine.

You sure? I have some tea back home, if you want some.
