058: That's How I Knew This Story Would Break My Heart

[Hei is in the Astral Kitchen, making a huge amount of ramen--more than even he can eat, it seems. He's mostly finished with the cooking at this point, and is just letting it simmer for now. Despite the presence of all the food, he looks very distracted.]

[Eventually he takes a step back from the stove and just stands there with his arms folded, frowning as he stares at the pot of ramen.]

Should be enough for seven.

[He's silent for a long while. Then he sighs and shakes his head.]

What should I tell them? If it's Henrietta...

[Distracted eh? Well, in his distraction, Deadpool swipes a huge bowl of ramen, leaving behind a note that simply says:]

ENOUGH FOR SIX.

[There's not much Hei can do to get it back without spilling it everywhere, so instead, without even hesitating, he grabs the nearest butcher's knife and drives it through Deadpool's hand and into the counter as Deadpool is leaving the note.]

Not in the mood tonight, Deadpool.

[He winces, slides his hand up off the knife, shakes it a bit as it heals, then gets out his notepad and writes:]

Give me back the ramen. That's not even mine, it's for someone else.

[Thankfully Hei is preoccupied, because Crowley is sauntering up behind him with a styrofoam cup of expensive coffee in one hand. As soon as Hei's head stops shaking, Crowley takes advantage of the fact that Hei is a good half a foot shorter than he is and sets his coffee cup down on top of his head.]

What's this about Henrietta?

[It's a good thing Hei knows how to be very still, otherwise they'd both be covered in hot coffee right now, which would be unpleasant. He blinks when he feels the coffee cup and turns his head very slowly to look at Crowley, managing to not tip the cup over the whole time. He gives Crowley an "r u srs" look.]

[Then he reaches up, takes the coffee, and starts drinking it.]

[He steps around Hei to inspect the food, then turns his nose up at it a bit and moves over to open the fridge and hang off the door as he stares inside.]

[Hei actually kind of needed coffee. It has been a long day.]

We're calling an emergency meeting. We just got word from one of the Contractors moving through the Constellation. [He takes a sip of coffee and looks over at Crowley.] A little girl with a gun, hunting runaway Contractors. Stronger than normal, excellent with weapons, has killed two already. But not a Contractor. No Russel Synchrotron Radiation.

[There's a long pause.] The others think it's some kind of new Syndicate initiative. I have no idea what to tell them.

[He pokes around in the fridge for a while as Hei talks, not really turning anything up, though as soon as Hei starts talking about the little girls with guns bit he straightens up.]

The Agency? Why would they be after Contractors?

[HEI HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CUT BREAD WITH THE KNIFE HE USES TO KILL PEOPLE, HE DOES NOT MIND COOTIES. Although technically that was Amber but I'm sure Hei did it too.]

It makes sense that Henrietta and I have a merger. It also makes sense that the Agency might be a branch of the Syndicate, or simply working for them.
