[a young man stumbles along the edge of Amaterasu's forest, naked and bleeding

blue eyes are wide and bright in his drawn, pale face, framed in dirty tangles

he finally collapses against a tree, breath laboured and body trembling

he stares dully at the worst wound; though it has already begun to heal, there's no denying the hole in his left hand]

Holy shit, you okay??

Remus! [So totally there.] Oh my dear, what has happened?

[he starts, and winces, before staring up at her and trying to calm himself, gather the strength to speak]

I'll...be fine.

[slight, pained smile] The transformation...is never easy. [swallows] And I was shot at. [a flash of anger in the words, but it dissipates; he's too exhausted for it]

{Kneels in front of him}

Ne, Remus, you look quite a bit worse this time.

Shot at? Who on Earth would do such a thing? Oh, goodness, hold still a moment and I shall heal your injuries.

[Way to give him a fucking heart attack, Remus. Frog speeds out of motherfucking nowhere to kneel beside Remus and the tree.]

Remus!

[There has never been as much panic in his voice until now, nor so much worry in his eyes. Without even thinking, he unclasps his cloak and tosses it around Remus' shoulders.]

[Yeah, like Jolyne's going to believe *that*. She pops off the Plane for a moment and returns with an oversized orange jacket that looks suspiciously like it's from a prison - as if the words "GD st JAIL" on the back weren't enough of a dead giveaway.]

Well, at least this'll help a little. Sorry if it smells funny or anything, but the guys in the ward don't wash much.

[careful breath, weak smile] Looks worse than it is.

his head jerks up when he hears Frog's voice, and despite the pain and dizziness he smiles, just a little]

'Lo.

[Like a vulture drawn to the injured, One (funnily enough) is drawn to the sound of labored breathing, though he only stops to eye Remus boredly. ]

[his eyes widen, because he is not used to people being so concerned and generous AT ALL, but then he smiles, a bit, using the tree to pull himself up] Thank you.

It still looks pretty bad, though.

{After a moment, she tilts her head} What happened?

[obeys, speaking slowly and carefully] Not sure. Never saw him before.

[his eyes widen, and his lips curl - and then he stops, forces himself to stay neutral and still

because giving himself away would be very very stupid, and if he were very very stupid, he would be dead already]

[That smile only makes him feel worse. He wraps his friend tightly in the thick green fabric, save his injured hand.]

Don't speak; let me see that hand. I beg of you.

[after a moment, he reaches out, speaking softly] It was shot. My... [and the word, taut with fear and hope] paw.

Shot... [Lucca introduced him to the notion of guns. And he did not like them. Frog struggles between helplessness and the sick feeling of anger rising within.]

... Rest here while you can, and return to that world stronger. That is what matters right now. [He removes a roll of bandages from his pack and begins wrapping Remus' hand.] You'll need true healer's attention. This is all I can do for the wound at the moment.

[shuffling, and he offers a canteen]

Drink.

[The stillness appeals in its obvious defensive manner, but as it was designed, it also elicits a certain predatory disinterest; he continues.]

[WAAAGH! Isaac speeds over, dropping to his knees.] Remus! Hold still!

[Draws a few quick slashes in the air, and a moment later his injuries are starting to close rapidly.]

Can you describe him to me, then?

Hey, no prob. When you look like hell, it's generally good to have someone around to help.

[faint, hoarse laugh] That's very true. Assuming you can trust them.

[his eyes close; it is bliss, to feel the agony fade away

a good number of scars still adorn his skin, however, some years old, some months]

Tall, thin, rather pale. Blue eyes, straight dark hair - long bangs. He smelled...strange.

[painful chuckle] I suppose it does. [pause] It's...I...
