[there is a wolf on the Plane

if one looks closely, he doesn't fit the description for any particular sort; the snout is too long for one, pupils too large for another; he has a tufted tail, and no under-fur on his pelt

his fur is a dull brown, and his eyes dark blue, and intelligent; some may recognise those eyes

he prowls this way and that, anxious and confused]

((Experiment start! Remus will be stuck as a wolf for a few days, with his mind intact.

And, ah, can we pretend this was a few hours earlier? I SLEPT TOO MUCH. D:))

[scrabbles backwards, when he catches sight of her]

Fufufu, there seems to be many a wolf here! I cannot complain for it, though you are unlike my brothers and sisters.

[he is tense, and keeps his distance, but cocks his head in a very human gesture of curiosity]

{Smiles as her tail wags}

But you are not very much a wolf, now are you?

[his mouth opens, as if for speech; then it closes, and he looks as abashed as a wolf can]

[._.]

[takes a step towards him, before stilling]

[He's used to dealing with crazy wolves while traveling. His hands aren't on his weapon, but he's clearly tense.

Still, something about this wolf seems strange.]

[he expected that, because who wouldn't be? to set them both at ease, he hopes, he sits down, quiet and docile]

{Horo laughs, sitting comfortably. For the second time this week, her speech comes out as a wolf's, but hopefully it should be understandable to Remus}

Now then, who are you, young one?

[he just stares, for a moment, before he trusts instinct and growls back, tentatively]

Remus. Wizard.

It is very nice to meet you, Remus the Wizard. I am the Wise Wolf of Yoitsu, Horo. Quite the pleasure! I must say, having all of these creatures of my kin lately is quite the surprise to me!

Puppy~ It's a big puppy~! [Ryuuta will be trying to pet you now]

[is a bit boggled by her Sheer Cheerfulness, but he relaxes a bit, sitting as well]

Nice to meet you. [imitation! and then he carefully branches out] I've only met one other, so far. [this is very weird, but quite nice too, really]

[tenses and growls, baring his teeth, and is automatically horrified at himself; he forces himself to relax, and licks at the large hand in apology]

Amaterasu, I assume? She is a true Goddess, so she has told me, but I am no more than a clever wolf who has lived a very long time. And what of you?

[he listens intently, but then hesitates, even now; finally]

I'm only a wolf once a month. I'm not usually...myself when it happens.

Well quite obviously. You are a wolf.

{She laughs teasingly for a moment, but then nods} I have heard stories of such a thing, truthfully. Of human tales, though I do not know the name for that condition.

[Fiends shouldn't have access to the Plane, right? Frog spots him and hesitates, a hand on his sword, but the wolf doesn't seem to be hurting anyone.]

[the amusement is weak, but there]

Lycanthropy. I'm called a werewolf. [a slight snarl over the word, unconscious]

[he freezes in the middle of moving forward; instead, he lay down, doing his best to look pleasant and non-threatening]

A werewolf! What an odd word indeed. But by the growl, I would imagine it is more unfavorable than it sounds to me. Do you crave human blood, perhaps?

[He relaxes visibly. A moment of deliberation, then he approaches the wolf and kneels.]

Are you all right?

[pregnant pause] Werewolves are often vicious, at least to humans. I'm not...sentient when I transform. Not like this, I don't know why...
