02 ∞ Mabel?

[Out of nowhere, Shawn bounds into the Astral Plane carrying a very large stuffed purple bear that says "HUG ME" in bright green letters on its belly. He plops the bear down and stands there for a minute, seeming quite satisfied with himself- his usual big, toothy grin in full force.]

"So! Interesting story." [He announces to the Astral Plane and gestures to the bear.] "Mostly involving guns...and this..giant, purple stuffed bear I've affectionately christened Mabel."

[A pause.]

"As of yesterday's County Fair, I am officially Santa Barbara California's 'sharpest little shooter.' With a gun."

[He's even got demonstrative evidence- the gun used. He raises a clear, plastic neon squirt gun and pumps the trigger twice with a finger, giving two 'squirts' straight up into the air.]

"A big responsibility, I know. But I'm mostly confident I can handle it. Please, at your whimsy, feel free to come closer and admire the sweetness." [He flips the water pistol on a finger and hooks it on his belt in a rather showy fashion.] "I am, after all, not really armed."

"And the honorary title: [Pause] of sharpest little shooter." [He nudges the bear lightly with a foot] "You have the bear, if you want. I - was in it for the bragging rights." [Faux machoness here. This is Shawn, confusing you for a woman. Sorry. :(]

[He grins] Thanks. [..and offers a hand to the Yuyuko.] Shawn Spencer - and... I'm sensing you're... not too human? [It's a somewhat intrigued guess, lacking any offensive undertones.]

Yuyuko, Saigyouji Yuyuko~. And you would be correct. I have not been human for a while now, if I was to begin with~.

[Shawn offers an impressed 'Aaaah' and grins. His hand temporarily rejoins his side for the time being.] A ghost, huh? Well, that's quite the name you've got there - what's it short for? [He jokes, harmlessly.]

[Raises his eyebrows, amused] Reaally now. [folds his hands into his pockets] Well, you want to hear about the part with the jelly bean jar, the carnival murder...perhaps just the shooting competition in itself? [Pause] Or are you in for the whole kit 'n caboodle?

It's Lebam. [raises a finger] Backwards.

And I'm Shawn. [turns the finger to point at his chest] Normally I prefer to meet people out from under the old solar system carpet, but this should be just fine for now. [offers his hand] And you?

[Takes his hand and shakes it] Rose. Nice to meet you, then, Shawn.

Also, the second place title was something unfortunate along the lines of sharpest little flinger.

Now. [raises two palms, both facing up.] Shooter? [raises one and looks at it] and flinger. [lowers the other hand]

Yes. Lebam; which is French for 'The Bam', I believe. But ...

[releases her hand and raises his own to his right temple. He closes his eyes and sucks in a dramatic breath, before suddenly exhaling - his eyes popping open again.] I'm getting a very strange vibe that we've met before... [pauses to look away briefly, and then right back.] or perhaps this is a premonition... [trails off and reaches out, turning his hand over.]

No... [wiggles his fingers]

OH!

I'm...seeing sea gulls. And whales..!

Submarines!

[he pauses to turn a crab-like palm with hooked fingers slowly upwards.]

Ah!

I'm getting - You are... or at one point were.. [he offers a short intake of breath, and then flattens his hand to his chest.] From Earth!

[he folds a little, as if the 'vision' exhausted him. Although it hadn't been too difficult. She had an accent, after all. Few others here had accents at all - let alone a European one.]

[Gives him a slightly concerned look] Earthling, born and bred, that's me.

You all right?

Better, now. [he says, with a boyish smile.]

But you'll.. have to forgive me. [and back to the faux awe of his 'mystical man voice'] I should have told you; I am a psychic. Born and bred. The presence of the spirits here in the 'Plane is especially strong. I've been finding myself getting hit by visions quite often.

And violently.

...Smacking.

A psychic, huh? I've never met a psychic before. Well, actually, the Doctor's a bit psychic, but he doesn't get visions. More like looks into other people's heads. Same with the psychic paper.

[arches an eyebrow] Afraid I haven't gotten the 411 on psychic paper - where do you buy it? Psychic Staples?

[Laughs] Alien Staples might be more right. I might actually have one....[Digs around in her pockets and produces a piece of psychic paper]

[This would be Shawn, accepting the paper and staring at it somewhat blankly. He gives it a shake in an attempt to get it to do its 'thing'.... whatever it's thing is, anyways.]

[After a minute, he looks up from it.]

...I think this one's out of juice?

Yeah, it doesn't usually work if you've got psychic training or something. But if I think something and show someone the paper, what I was thinking shows up on the paper.

..... Offf course it does. I was just testing you. [He says, happily, and then turns back to the paper. Closing his eyes, he webs his fingers out over the paper and forms a very distinct picture in his mind.... When he opens his eyes and takes his hand off of it, it's a picture of Rose in huge, pink sunglasses. And we're talking unnaturally huge - not just Paris Hilton huge.]

Good look for you, I think! [Smiling, he hands the paper back to her.]

[Laughs] I'll keep that in mind next time I need a new pair of sunglasses. I'm sure I can find a pair like that somewhere in London. They've got everything here.

Honestly, that sounds like San Francisco to me. Although the anything? Extends to people.

Sooo not kidding about that, either. Yesterday I saw a fire breather on stilts. Now, I don't know about you, but breathing fire on wooden stilts and in a billowy dress? Really?

[Furrows his eyebrows, and hesitates.] ..Have you ever been the states?

I saw something like that, 'cept for the dress, in Covant Garden once. Right next to a knife juggler on a 10-foot unicyle. Completely mad.

A few times. Once, in Utah, 'cept I was underground the whole time. And I went to New York last year.
