[She appears on the plane, fur filthy and tangled. She's thinner, her eyes huge, scuttling along close to the ground. Looking left, right, muttering to herself the entire time.]

They've got eyes behind the throne, in the stone, in the bone, the eyes, see them see, see? The eyes are everywhere.

[[Experiment start]]

Cy?

[She freezes and hunkers down.] Do the eyes rest on me, now? Do they see the bones and the bloody threads?

[kneels down, holding out his hands to her, palm-up] Cy?

[Jerks back slightly, watching him with wide eyes.] See the lines traced through the blood, watching careful, watching slow.

Cy? Is something wrong?

[Crouches so he's at a similar height (relatively)] What's wrong?

[She crouches, leaning away from him slightly.] What is it doing?

[Slides toward him, sideways.] Whisper, whisper in my ear, toying with each tiny fear.

[keeps his voice soft, but strong] Cy. I want to help.

[Very slowly sides forward, stretching out as far as she can so sniff at his fingertips. And then she pulls back and settles into a ball.]

[tries a gentle smile] Can you tell me what happened?

[The question earns a blank stare.]

...

It's talking. It's talking, but what sense is it making? All this happenings and happenstance.

Did something frighten you?

[She purrts and tries to sidle around him, in the direction of the kitchen.]

[Crouching down] Eh? Ehh? Kitty doesn't look good again.

Cy...? [He crouches down so he's at eye-level.] What is it? Did I startle you?

Hop-Cat! [Starts following her, mimicking her movements.]

[sighs] Right, then. Cy. Tell me what you're feeling.

[Staaaaaaaaring.] The trembling. Never ever been--shaking inside, won't stop, won't stop.

[LEANNNNING BACK.] I can hear it. I can hear it. It won't go away.

[FLAIL. She skitters back a bit.]

[Freezes] Hopscotched.

[he crouches down and reaches a hand out to her] Whose eyes?

[Freezes] Here there everywhere am I?

Hopscotched?

[Scoots back a little.] Cy, it's alright. I'm not going to hurt you.

[Headtilt]

Are you perhaps a relative of the Cheshire Cat? I should think to ask if you are one of Dinah's, but you rather look nothing at all like her - though I daresay you hardly look much like that horrid grinning thing, either!

[Alice taps a finger against her lips in thought] I should think the Ees are more present than the Eyes. Or perhaps it was the Ayes... I am ever such a terrible speller, but I have never heard of an eye in "throne" or "stone" or "bone" - though I suppose if one wanted to, one could carve in, but that would hardly be the same, I should think.

Perhaps I can make it stop. [reaches out, slowly] I can try.

[takes a moment to sort that out] Do you feel them here, Cy?
